Warren Buffett As A Role Model

Warren Buffett is someone that I have looked up to for a long time. Warren Buffet was born in 1930 in Nebraska. “Buffett became one of the world's richest men and a celebrated philanthropist.” He invested in many stocks and became super successful at doing it which is incredibly difficult to do. Starting out with making millions but eventually it turned into him making billions of dollars just by knowing what to do in the stock market. He invested in insurance, food, energy, beverage, and media companies at a young age. Buffett also took over the company known as Berkshire Hathaway in 1965.

I look up to Warren Buffett because he has been a hard worker since such a young age and shows me that if you put in the effort and work that you can be successful also. Whenever I think that I can not push through on something I look to people like this and say to myself if they did it than you can too. I do not think I will ever have the type of money that he has but it keeps me going because in the end it will be worth pushing foward than giving up on a dream or something else similar to that. Warren Buffett found a way to make a lot of money without slaving his life away. There are many rich people in this world but most of them have to work very long hours and work mostly every single day of their lives until they eventually retire. And once they retire they realized that they have worked their life away without even really enjoying it.

In his early years Warren Buffett’s father was a stockbroker and a U.S. congressman this probably helped him out a lot in being successful later in life. He made his first investment when he was only eleven years old to a company known as Cities Service Preferred. The stock went down for awhile but once it got a bit above his buying price Warren Buffett sold the stock, he made a bad choice in doing that because it shot up in price after awhile and this taught him to stay patient in the stock market. At thirteen he had made is own business as a paperboy. This show’s even from the beginning he was a hard working man. Buffett went to the University of Pennsylvania to go into the business program. Only staying at the University of Pennsylvania for two years he went to the University of Nebraska after. Then “In 1951 he received his master's degree in economics at Columbia University, where he studied under economist Benjamin Graham, and furthered his education at the New York Institute of Finance.” Buffett was an avid book reader and read The Intelligent Investor given to him by his professor. This book is what gave Buffett confidence in the stock market.

Warren Buffett is a very caring man to society also. “In June 2006, Buffett announced his plans to donate his entire fortune to charity. Then, in 2010, Buffett and Bill Gates announced that they formed The Giving Pledge campaign to encourage other wealthy individuals to pursue philanthropy.” Warren had billions of dollars saved up, for someone to donate all their earnings to charity is mindblowing to me this shows how much he cares about other people too not just himself. This is the reason why I did my research paper on Warren Buffet there has never been another person like him and gives me the courage that I need in life to strive for success and give back to people in need.
