A Review Of The Film Hotel Rwanda

The film was shot about the Rwandan genocide in 2004. The film's director is Terry George. It is a kind of history / drama genre. The film tells the story of how the Huthues slaughtered Tutsi in Rwanda. Belgians decided on the color of their skin. Thus, the Belgians created two different groups. Then, the divergence between the tactics of divide and rule, and the differences between tutsi and hutu are made clearer. Belgium's ruling of the country with the Tutsis in the colonial period was one of the reasons for the genocide of the Hutus in the future.

At the beginning of the film, he mentioned about how the Tutsians cooperated with the Belgians and how slaughtered to Hutu peoples on RTLM radio; Tutsians are seen as a cockroach for Hutu peoples. By making these speeches, we can see that it is a nationalist attitude that organizes Hutus against Tutsi.

Let's talk about our main character. Paul Rusesabagina is a Rwandan originated Hutu who is the director of Hotel Del Melle Collines. Hotel Del Melle Collines is one of the most prestigious hotels in the country. Paul went to a friend's store to buy the hotel's shortcomings. This person is George Rutaganda, who speaks on RTLM radio. When they land at the warehouse, he saw hundreds swords from broken box. These swords are proof of the brutality of the massacre. Interahamwe starts to increase its effectiveness by taking actions in the country. In actions, were shouted slogans such as 'Tutsis death' with the Hutu people. The UN is also uncomfortable with this situation. Paul Rusesabagina's tutsi neighbor had taken by soldiers to be killed. When he saw his neighbours; he aren't doing anything and keep silent. He said that his wife; nothing didn't important as family for his. I think he was selfish. There was a sign that the Hutus gave to start the violence. Cut the high trees. The RTLM radio signaled that the opponents of Tutsi began to kill them one by one. Paul gove a bribes to soldiers for his family and neighbours. His behavior made me happy. There is no benefit of the UN being there. Because they chose to be an audience. Here, we can see the discriminatory difference that the UN tries to make if it tries to be peaceful.

Jack Daglish, who was strictly forbidden to go out of the hotel to report, recorded images to violate this rule with his camera and show Rwanda to the whole world. The images were horrific; swords, massacres, deaths. But if there is a good side, it would be possible to prevent this atrocities from escalating to advanced dimensions thanks to these images to be published in the international press. Paul and Jack's dialogue on this has explained the insensitivity of the world very clearly. “If no one intervenes, is it still a good thing to show? for the images he was asking ” Paul's answer was a simple question that every man could think of, “how can they testify to such an atrocity and not intervene?”. Jack said, “I think when people see these images, they'll say, “Oh my god, what a terrible thing!” and they'll keep eating. ” he was saying. In this scene, we can clearly see that people seem to be sensitive and that they are not really sensitive at all. And as these massacres continue, it is not possible to think that the world is a very disgusting place. Paul is trying to protect the refugees at the hotel. He's trying to use his influence. While all this is going on, they are pulling UN troops and people out of there and leaving the people there alone.

The UN should have protected them there. Then we see Paul go back to pick up supplies, where he goes to use the Hutus ' Tutsi women. It's all very disgusting. It saddens me that George suggested to Paul that he use the River Road and the horrible images there. As we can see from the fact that after Paul bribes the soldiers to protect him, he asks for help from Europe and can accommodate himself in the hotel through France, the great powers are still under pressure from the country. In addition, Paul's fear of the general saying they are being watched by the United States shows us that the United States has a sanction over the Rwanda army. Paul, who started out with a hope, was finally able to bring the people there to the border. And he went with his family to Tanzania. Whatever happens, we should never lose hope.
