Getting to Know Me: Passion for Aviation and Personal Introduction
My name is Muhammad Hamza Malik. I came from the background of business. My entire family runs different kinds of business. Honestly, I don’t have any idea that one day I will be learning about the aviation and aiming to become a pilot. Two years ago, when I was in grade 11, I was interested in engineering specifically petroleum engineering but in that era, I heard the news that petroleum industry in Canada is firing employees from their jobs and giving them their subsidized for leaving the company because of the shortage in petroleum in Alberta. I was in so shock and start looking for the different fields to pursue my career in. Then unexpectedly I met a person through my dad, he works for the flying school in Burlington. He asked me about what my future plans are, and I told him, I was interested in engineering but not anymore. Then he threw the idea, why not come with me one day I’ll show you what I do if that catches your interest than carrying on that. Long story short, then I chose this program to continue my career in the aviation industry. I want to learn about aviation from a different perspective. Eventually, I will pursue my career to become a pilot. I chose Aviation Operations because I thought from this program I will get to learn more about aviation operation, not just that but also the industry and it will open more options for me in future when I will graduate from the program, that would help me in specifying and in choosing the career that suits me. Probably, after graduation, I will continue studying for a bachelor’s in aviation to get a degree in aviation. Also, in the meantime, when I will be doing my degree, I will also be doing by private plane licensing and pursue to commercial licensing eventually. So, as being said, I will be a future commercial pilot in the aviation industry.
I have several expectations from this course. First, from this course, I'm expecting to gain a lot of knowledge, so I can apply that in real life out there to succeed in the career. Secondly, I'm expecting to have strong leadership skills to help me not only in that specific field, but I can also apply that skill in my personal life too.
I'm expecting an exciting semester and an amazing experience from our great Professor Smith, William. Thanks!
