When something is going out of the sky and earns a big pocket, same with the case of Youtube people try to compete it by cloning it with a slight innovation to spice it up. So, with the passage of time YouTube met its big competitors and until 2019, people switched to another platform with ease and to witness new development. Now there is no such thing or question like what happens if YouTube crashed? If YouTube will be down? We are having so many alternative websites and platform by which we can get the same things. Then why to worry about.

There are many competitors of YouTube that show up in the market in the glimpse of time. The most popular and best one is DailyMotion. com as on 2019 chart and before that. It is founded on December 2005 in Paris. If it’s not YouTube then bingo it definitely Daily motion. The free video streaming platform, give a big complex to YouTube. Due to its “Mass uploader” feature, it can upload several videos in one time caught the user’s eye. When YouTube was facing copyright issues, in the meanwhile Daily motion has ramped its new interface for the verified publishers just to make sure that they create their own content and take the place of YouTube by getting the liability certificate from Paris court. On a daily basis, DailyMotion got millions of users and has matched the score with the YouTube.

The second most competitor is Vimeo. com was founded in November 2004 and has maintained its standard in the universe of technology. Vimeo is the ad-free platform for video streaming and sharing. It is the first video sharing website that shared high-definition videos and became popular among other video streaming platforms. Basically, it is a Saas business and to provide the services to the user’s videos it offers different subscription plan like youtube. Vimeo has also unique features like provide creators with tools and technologies to host, monetize and distribute videos. Due to the censorship in a few regions like India, china etc the Vimeo was facing problems but, for other countries it still getting its way to top YouTube.

The third most significant competitor on 2019 board is Metacafe also known as legacy website. Founded in July 2003, it is popular and most used before people switching to Youtube after its development. Short-form video entertainment is the specialty of this website as it provides the content for the entertainment categories like movies, seasons, shows etc. At its very start it was just like the copy of YouTube and DailyMotion but as time passes it has set up to be creative and unique features that included marquee content providers that is major movie studios, video game publishers, broadcast and cable TV networks, music labels and sports leagues. The site is perfectly utilize itself for branding different products like cosmetics, games, paints etc. Mostly it is used by 18+ people as without its family filter feature it shows show of the inappropriate contents that are not suitable and recommended for kids. But overall features of this website are the big challenge to the Youtube as the grand competitor as it has more than 45 million different users yearly.

The fourth most using site that came in the ring to face YouTube is vevo. com. Founded in December, 2009. It also provides hosting to users for video streaming. Three major record companies has created a joint-venture. it has set many records like 24 hours vevo records in which 62. 5 million people viewed its video. Most of all the features are as per same as Youtube but its music video streaming and availability has made it a score competitor. But due to some reason, vevo shut down and distribute itself through Youtube.

The next in the list is Twitch. tv founded in June 2011 and having the same video-streaming features. The main focus of this site is video game streaming typically associated with E-sports. In the past few years it has been considered as the fourth major internet consuming website in US. The uniqueness from Youtube is that it hosts streams for charity purposes. The attractive thing about it is that it doesn’t allow the users to stream adult games even if they are highly rated. It has banned those games that are not suitable for kids as well as adults.

There are other more fine competitors of Youtube like The Internet Archive, 9GagTv, Veoh etc. All of these are providing video streaming with their own unique feature and sharing the traffic of Youtube. With all these highly rated websites, Youtube has still maintained its standard high and deeply uprooted in the users mind. The first thing comes in mind after hearing video sharing is Youtube. Due to its download and watch later feature, its reputation goes out of the sky. With hundreds of its competitors it still remains at No1.
