Bernie Sanders an American politician who is running for the 2020 presidential election as a Democrat. Sanders is known for his stance against economic inequality. A few issues Sander is putting fourth in the campaign are health care for all, fight for women’s rights, cancel all college debt, immigration reform, real Wall Street reform, and plenty of other issues. With Bernie running as a Democrat, many of the liberal states will vote for him. Also those who are enticed by what he believes about the economy being unfair to the rich. Sanders wants the empower the 99% instead of the 1% which will soon reduce income inequality.
He believes that there is no way a surviving with $7.25 an hour as the current federal minimum wage, which he calls “starvation pay”. Raising the minimum wage to $15 an hour will make the minimum wage more “livable”. Sanders calls attention to the pay gap between men and women who perform similar work, but get paid unfairly because of their gender. He wants to remove a structural barrier that keeps women from moving forward in a workplace with men present. Focusing on the gender pay gap, Sanders also highlights the race wage gap, that Black and Hispanic women face the biggest pay gap. A person’s race should not determine if they get a job and how much they should get paid. Running for Democrat means there is a distinct side as to which Bernie Sanders sides with on issues like abortion, climate change, gun control, fighting for the minority, and immgration control. Last election Sanders main issue was to solve all student debt, which he is also pursuing in this election.
Sanders wants public colleges, universities, and trade school free for everyone, he believes that everyone should have the right to get an education, to attend college. Sanders plans to pass College For All Act which gives $48 billion per year to anyone that desire to further their education, no matter their income. He states that he will provide grants for low income students to cover the non-tuition costs, also place a cap on student interest loan rates. He has decided to tax wall street to cancel all student debt that is present which is $2.2 trillion, which many other countries has put forth in their country. Sanders plans to eliminate some of the incentives that are already placed in trade, he wishes to make trade and tax agreements easier for corporations overseas. In order to create and keep jobs in America the trade policy should place the needs of American workers and small businesses. Bernie is against trade agreements because around 175,000 jobs have been lost due to trade with our agreement with South Korea. Sanders opposes the Trans Pacific Partnership where there is a trade deal with many countries around the Pacific Ocean, which will make corporations see jobs overseas and not in America. Wall Street would benefit instead of everyone else, which is not the goal for Bernie Sanders.
Once Sanders agrees to be apart of TPP there is no backing out of the agreement. Bernie Sanders introduces new tax reforms where he would raise rates on the wealthy also diminish any alternatives the wealthy come up with in order for them not to pay loads in taxes. In order to tax the wealthy properly Sanders plans on diminishing offshore tax scams through the Corporate Tax Dodging Prevention Act. Also tax Wall Street though the Inclusive Prosperity Act in order for Wall Street to pay their fair share of taxes.
