Josh Doctson is an American footballer who started playing for the Washington Redskins of the National Football League (NFL) after he was selected by the team in the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft. The wide receiver began his college career at the University of Wyoming, playing for the Cowboys and later transferred to Texas Christian University (TCU).

In 2015, he was named the consensus All-American team as a result of his amazing performance in 2015.

Josh Doctson was born on December 3, 1992, in Mansfield, Texas, United States. He acquired his high school education at Mansfield Legacy High School in Mansfield, Texas, and played both football and basketball, receiving letters in both sports for three consecutive years.

As a junior in the school, he played six games in his first football season, hauling in 18 passes for 220 yards with a long of 25. During his senior year in 2010, Josh played nine games, catching 35 passes for 558 yards and 5 touchdowns. Following his great performance, he bagged first-team All-District 5-5A honors and was voted a team captain in addition to being selected Legacy's Most Valuable Player.

Moving forward, Josh Doctson got into the University of Wyoming to play college football with the Cowboys on December 14, 2010, having chosen the school/team over the Tulsa Golden Hurricane of the University of Tulsa and the Duke Blue Devils of Duke University. As a freshman at Wyoming in 20ll, Doctson played 12 games and recorded 35 receptions for 393 yards and five touchdowns.

At the end of the season, Josh transferred to Texas Christian University (TCU) but did not play in 2012 because of NCAA transfer rules. By 2013, he played in 12 games with six starts, recording 36 receptions for 440 yards and four touchdowns that season. Playing as a junior in 2014, he had 65 receptions for 1, 018 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns.

During his senior year, Josh notched 14 touchdowns, 79 receptions and 1, 327 receiving yards for the Cowboys and was named consensus All-American.

After an undeniably spectacular performance in college, Josh Doctsun took part in the NFL Combine drills. In the course of the tests/evaluations, he finished the 40-yard dash in 4. 5 seconds, 20-yard dash in 4. 08 seconds, and 60-yard shuttle in 11. 06 seconds. He also finished vertical jump of 41. 0 inches, broad jump of 131. 0 inches and the three-cone drill in 6. 84 seconds. His impressive performance positioned him as a first-round pick in the 2016 NFL draft.

Josh was eventually selected by the Washington Redskins as the 22nd overall in the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft but did not play in the preseason as a result of an injury he sustained in his Achilles. He later played his opening career game in the season opener which ended in a 16–38 loss on Monday Night Football to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Having aggravated his Achilles injury during pregame warmups in Week 3 against the New York Giants, Josh Doctson was kept on the sideline. He further scored the final touchdown that gave the Redskins both the lead and win in the Thanksgiving game over the New York Giants. At the end of the 2017 season, Josh Doctson played in 16 games with 6 touchdowns, 35 receptions, and 502 receiving yards.

Although Josh has completed his second regular season at the NFL, his performance has not been wonderful. He is, however, working extra hard to step up his game in 2018 season.
