BTS: The Phenomenal Iconic South Korean Music Band
With Bts taking over the world with their message of self love and acceptance, let first look into who is in the group. Here is a short biography of each member. There are seven members in total, the leader being RM. He’s real name is Kim Namjoon, one of the main rappers in the group. Before debuting under Bts, he was an underground rapper and got experience with producing and rapping there. He learned english by watching the TV show “friends” and has an IQ of 148- scoring in the top 1. 3% in foreign language,math and history. Next is Jin. His real name is Kim Seokjin. He is a vocalist and is the oldest in the group. Suga is the second-oldest in the group and the lead rapper. His real name is Min Yoongi.
He began his rapping career at just 13 years old and there on began composing,rapping,and performing. J-hope, real name is Jung Hoseok, before debuting, he was an underground dancer for the dance team Neuron. He is the lead dancer and rapper of Bts. Park Jimin, used to be a contemporary dancer in his highschool years before debuting. He is the lead dancer and vocalist. Kim Taehyung, also known for his stage name being just one letter, “V”. He is a vocalist and sub dancer in the group. Jeon Jungkook, the youngest, also known for many of his talents. His position is the lead dancer, main vocalist,and sub rapper. Bts is also known as the Bangtan Boys,Bulletproof Boy scouts,or Beyond The Scene, debuted under the company “Bighit Entertainment” on June 13,2013. Earlier just like many rookie/just debuting groups, they didn't get a lot of recognition. It was around the “N. O” era (which is an album released in Sept 11,2013), was months after their debut but almost disbanded after facing financial issues as well as not getting enough allowance to continue moving into the music industry. They pulled through this tough time, and went into mainstream breakthrough and commercial success in 2015-2016,and later gaining international success throughout the world in 2017-present time.
Fourth slide: Major awards they have won,album sales-streams,world toursOn May 5,2015 they won their first ever award as a group for their song “I Need U”. They later went to win the 2016 Album of the Year at the Mnet Music Awards. Also won the Artist of the Year at the Seoul Music Awards- them being the first artists to break the 10 year streak of being the first non-big companies to do so. In America, they have won the Top Social Artist Awards in the Billboard Music Awards in 2017 and 2018 in a row. Also won the 2017 Favourite Social Artist in the American Music Awards. Going onto album sales, their most recent album, called Love Yourself : answer has sold 1,933,450 copies in korea ONLY- not including the rest of the world. Bts has also beat Taylor Swift’s Youtube record for the most recorded views in 24 hours. Taylor Swift’s Look What You Made Me Do got 43. 2 million, while Bts’ IDOL received 45 million views.
They also were the first k-pop group to top the U. S 200 Billboard chart too. They are now currently continuing their Love Yourself World Tour throughout many different countries- finishing it through the beginning of 2019.
