Characteristic Traits Of Protagonist Personality Type

Barack Obama, Oprah Winfrey, Jennifer Lawrence are the names of people who are mostly known for the impact they have on people's lives or platform they all have, but many can identify them by their personality. They all fall under the personality type of protagonist or ENFJ. Because in the1940’s two women, Katherine Biggs and her daughter, Isabel Myers developed a personality test known as the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator. Protagonist is the personality type that forms only about two percent of the population around the world. Many rely on this personality to be the leaders and help influence others. They have great charisma and try to influence others to do good. Their characteristics are mostly extraverted and have an intuitive type of energy, and also have strong feelings when making decisions and judging approach when planning.

Protagonists have an extraverted type of trait. Extraverted are outgoing and can get along with others well. It should be noted that they are motivated to talk to others because they find their true energy by being around others. They are characterized by being social and “The life of the party”. Extraverted people are easily excited about situations they love seeking new ways to engage with others. In addition to this outgoing nature may be considered in jobs like teaching, human resource manager, and even politicians. An extravert wouldn't work so well in lonely environment they wouldn't feel complete without being around others However, they may feel uncomfortable if these jobs or others make them go against their value system. Indeed this trait will often speak up and will try to do something for what they believe in. This is all because extraverts engage in risky behavior; they tend to look at what is the big picture. A study shows that extraverts who take risks and succeed are rewarded with dopamine, a chemical that triggers a reward to the center of the brain. Besides if they take risks for themselves they tend to have a good reason to because they have an intuitive type of energy about thinking.

Protagonist thinks intuitive. Intuitive means“the ability to understand something instinctively, without the need for conscious reasoning”. Nevertheless, protagonists tend to have a strong intuitive personality that lets them be open-minded. They will try to find new adventures without thinking. For example, they will move to a new city when they have a feeling of new beginnings. Also, they recognize patterns when they gain experience at work or school and can connect patterns that will later help them have an instinct to make decisions. In addition, working at an emergency room physicians who take care of patients tend to let their intuition take over when an emergency happens. An intuitive person will be the one to feel unsure about an environment like walking alone in the streets or the energy of a person. They will be the quickest to notice if something is going to happen when their mind and body are giving them sensations to tell them about warnings. With this instinct, they are still able to check themselves they are not afraid of admitting that their instincts might mislead them. Above all, even with having a “gut feeling,” about situations protagonists have an emotional way of going about things.

This personality also has a strong sense of feeling when it comes to decision making decisions. We all have feelings but everyone reacts different and how they help them in direct certain roles in our life. It should be noted that feelers make decisions based on their personal morals and social consideration. People might describe this trait as “thinking with the heart” instead of logical thinking they seek to please others by their actions of kindness. Whereas some people think that this trait can come off weak or not thinking straight, most people with this personality trait tend to have a strong opinion that will help to persuade others. For many with this personality type, their principles and ideals are have way more important than just having success. They prefer to get things done and make others happy then start a conflict. Furthermore, they would rather cooperate than compete with others they rather stand together with someone who has the same feeling about a subject like them. Even having a strong feeling toward something they still tend to have a judging way about going through their day.

Protagonist has a judging trait; this doesn't mean protagonist are judgemental it just refers to how a person lives their “day-to-day life”. Additionally, they live a scheduled and pretty structured life and do not like to keep their options open. They always plan ahead and are ready for different challenges rather than just deal with them when they come. They are quick to make decisions to help them predict outcomes. This helps them have a strong work ethic and they tend to put their responsibilities first before anything. They can be reliable because of this in school or work settings. In classes, they are usually the person who read the chapters before and took notes to work efficiently in class. They take deadlines seriously and don't tend to put things off for the last minute. They will always try to put work first instead of play. This is because they love being able to say they are down with something or “checking it off”. It gives them a sense of control over their life and things around them. Conversely, this can also be a weakness because sometimes life can get out of hand and they will start to feel helpless. Judging may seem overwhelming to others but protagonist can have high values when it comes to themselves or others they can be stricter when it comes to work, laws or duties. Finally, this gives protagonist control of their life and gives them options to be able to act in certain situations.

From all of their personality traits, that protagonists offer their extroverted behavior to be around others and have the instinct to be able to make quick decisions. To have strong feelings when it comes to others keep a judging and schedule life. Indeed, there are many personality types around the world but many don't have the same thinking strategies to help them to overcome challenges. Protagonists are unique in their own way and will continue to inspire many. They will continue to have personal growth to be excellent leaders that genuine desire to do good.
