Comparison And Contrast Of The High Medieval Period Of France And Japan
Can you tell the comparison between the high medieval period of France and the contrast for Japan? To name a few differences between France and Japan, the differences are their unique culture, government, religion, and language. These factors later greatly affect both countries Middle Age.
After the Roman Empire ended, the population dreadfully decreased because of a series of epidemics and other serious issues as well as political collapse happened in that period. One of the biggest reason was that of Romans weak farming methods.
As early as 800 and more dramatic to 950, the development of treating deadly diseases, improved agricultural technology and became the foundation for the development of civilization. By 1280s, France still had to deal with war despite the fact they had the royal bank. In the south, the gravity of the guard deteriorated. The destruction and genocides on the Crusades during the war in the 13th century made the border extremely unstable. Because of the side effects of the war, the government had to resolve these problems institutionally. With the government's resolutions, population surged and proliferated agriculture. As it became easier to harvest in a new land, this also improved farming techniques such as harvesting marina which is known difficult to be grown but later grew abundantly in France. The proliferation of hydraulic work products to grind crops resulted in better diets. The farmers social status has also changed positively.
In Japan, many concepts we associate with medieval Europe were also happening. There was a strong warrior class going to the nobility, decentralized government bowing to the monarch in their castles, a surge of religious zeal, and strict rules of honor. The Japanese even had their own uses. Considering all of these similarities, this era approximately 1180-1600 CE during the Middle Ages in Japan. They say history can repeat itself, but in this case, history was imitating the continent. The Japanese government had an emperor named Minamoto who was the absolute authoritarian ruler. Minamoto had great cultural authority but had no political power. Minamoto was found to be the first chief of the Japanese military.
In France from the middle term of the Middle Age, Christian churches were destroyed by the authorities in the 800s and early 900s. Bishop Cutans lived in Rouen, away from the war-torn region. Caroline's antecedents threatened the moral leadership. Firstly, monks were encouraged to win the support of ordinary people who yearned for redemption. Beyond Clooney, he encouraged reforms to other monastery houses and proclaimed independence from class control. New personal devotion has spread from the monastery to the general community.
Secondly, it was to prevent infringing traditional rights of farmers and churches. Thanks to their efforts, it protected Christian warriors dignity who were banned fighting on special days and bleeding nights. Pope Sylvester was forced to wander from city to city in search of learning. Many literary cathedrals have revived the traditional learning process by emphasizing reading, writing, speaking, and arithmetic. It was Fulbert who brought young clergy into the burgeoning course. Ablard established a reputation for academic excellence in Paris by teaching and writing about logic, beliefs, and ethics. It shows the depth of classical knowledge and emotional characteristics of the period. Those trained in Roman law found the way how kings, princes or bishops were served. In the 1140s, when they found expressions in their languages such as lyrics of a song from Roland in southern France, they showed languages from various areas which evolution in Latin. Cultural divisions became more popular than languages and that French has not been completely spread to the south. Society and the Church have been expanding the expression of heretics since ancient times. In the early 11th century, a pagan-influenced by a foreign missionary lived a life of strong resistance to church to reform, refraining from sex and eating meat. Given all the wars and destruction of the Middle Age, it is not a surprise to see religion become important. People saw hope that could save them from this world’s chaos and the belief of salvation after death. During this time, Buddhism was on top of Japan. Buddhism kicked into Japan much earlier but was not accepted by the public until the Middle Age.
The introduction of Buddhism in the 6th century tells the Japanese people's fundamentally different life. Along with diplomacy, Japan has established close relations with Chinese and Korean courts and adopted a more sophisticated culture. This new culture is essentially Chinese culture and includes literature, philosophy, art, architecture, science, and medicine. The most important part is the introduction of the Chinese character system that revolutionized Japan, which had no unique writing system. During the Heian period, Japanese civilization was accepted as an interest in maintaining official relations with indigenous countries. Poetry and Buddhist images from the Ryan era, which tend to appeal or express human emotions, have so far been handed down visually rich, decorative, and highly sophisticated styles. The dignity of the 12th century has not gone away but was overtaken by a more flexible and ironic sensibility evident from fables, satire, and moral literature. Ratio and taste for tabloids reached a mature expression at the great Gothic cathedral in northern France. Christian Orthodoxy and philosophical doctrines clashed as the scientific work of commentators reached Paris. They show declining agricultural revenues for half a century after 1260. Their existing economic technology can no longer sustain growth. When crops were destroyed from 1315 to 1317, the population did not reduce and perhaps stayed stable.
In conclusion, if France and Japan did not develop, France and Japan both would not have become one of the powerful nations. France became famous for Christianity and recognized for its commerce. Japan also became famous for Buddhism and unique culture. After both countries had a deadly disease, they recovered from the past days and their efforts became the foundation for the development of civilization. Despite the sudden increase in population, their efforts resulted in efficient farming changes. Both France and Japan now has social and economic power. I believe that Japan and France will consistently strengthen their strength and make up for their weakness until they have become the real top world powers.
