Comparsion Of Franklin D. Roosevelt And Calvin Coolidge
Throughout the history of America, came many big accomplishments and failures. During 1923 to 1929 Calvin Coolidge was the 30th President of the United States. From 1933 to 1945 Franklin Roosevelt was the 32nd President of the United States. Being two completely different Presidents, Roosevelt and Coolidge, brought peace and closure to America’s complications. Roosevelt represents a sharply different vision for America because he focused on providing a foundation to the United States that will help improve social and economic problems. Coolidge represents a sharply different vision because he focused on the development of America.
Franklin Roosevelt represents a sharply different vision for America because he focuses on providing a foundation to the United States that will help improve social and economic problems. The first hundred days of being president Roosevelt saved banking systems, created 15 significant laws, also reformed and brought solutions to the economy. Roosevelt, within the 2 years of being president, made quick solutions for economic foundations. As Roosevelt is in the process of change and development, he proposed a speech addressing the problems in America. With Roosevelt taking part he also wanted people to take part in facing the problems. He adds “Happiness lies not in the mere possession of money; it lies in the joy of achievement, in the thrill of creative effort”. Roosevelt portrays people as an example to show that they are a start in a new change. Without the help of the people, he would not be able to get objectives done in a proper time. One example Roosevelt uses as making a new change is protecting personal competency, which gives the right of freedom to a person. Personal competency is a huge social improvement because this is a right given to a person knowing they have freedom of speech, and freedom of expression. Adjusting tax systems is only fair to do so because its within accordance to economic capacity. Roosevelt acted accordingly when it came to economic and social solutions. Not only did he acted accordingly but Roosevelt knew when the right time was and how to manage these problems. Roosevelt focused his vision for America on providing a foundation to end social and economic disasters.
Calvin Coolidge represents a sharply different vision for America because he focuses on developments for the future. Coolidge addresses “We can not continue these brilliant successes in the future, unless we continue to learn from the past”. In Coolidge’s speech he introduced that success comes from our past. The past is where a person can start from the beginning and develop a better future. Coolidge explains how each war marks the significant era in national development, which creates a foundation of peace that holds the world at the highest expectations. Through these expectations come responsibilities in America. Without responsibilities, America would not be at the place they are at. Without a world of effort and struggle, America and the people, would not have reached the developed which they are at. Effort encourages people in America to make a new change. Without struggles, the people wouldn’t be able to learn and improve to develop a better future. Coolidge indicates “It is based on the theory of helping those who help themselves, not on the theory that some should bear all the burdens of the others, but on the theory that all should share each other’s burdens”. Making a development for the future starts with the people in America. A person can not find change in a place where they can not receive change for development. To Coolidge it is up to the people to take action in the past, and hope for a developed future. Calvin Coolidge represents a sharply different vision because he focused on a developed future for America.
Throughout America Franklin Roosevelt and Calvin Coolidge brought many solutions to the complications. However, Franklin Roosevelt and Calvin Coolidge had their own perspectives on these disasters and how they were going to be handled. Franklin Roosevelt brought peace to America by making reformations to the economy, saving banking systems and protecting personal competency. Roosevelt represents a sharply different vision for America because he focused on providing a foundation to the United States that will help improve social and economic problems. Calvin Coolidge held high expectations for America which lead to the responsibilities of the people, including himself, for a new change. Coolidge represents a sharply different vision because he focused on the development of America.
