Contingency Thinking - 'Thinking Outside the Box'
I represent the form of Contingency thinking. I am responsible for making thinking outside the box and figuring out ways to overcome issues such as the one we are dealing with in Amazon. I am also responsible for summarizing and predicting the outcomes of certain theories and how they would function. In this paper I will share thinking outside the box examples reffered to Amazon company.
Contingency thinking is a form of thinking where adaptability is credited the most. We believe that being adaptable to different situations can help overcome many issues that a corporation might be struggling with. It is crucial to think of a problem from more than one perspective and that is why we have a team of experts to support is as we move further with our ambitions. The fact that we can solve issues by changing our approach, this gives us a competitive advantage over other corporations.
In the Amazon article, it is very clear that Amazon is a business corporation that pays less attention to their employees and it gives less benefits. It is clear that the employees are not being treated how they want to be treated as it clearly states in the article that every employee has been seen crying at least once due to the pressure and expectations. It is evident that employees are not receiving the care and benefits that they deserve to receive for the hard work they put in. The key to success for any business/corporations is its employees working first hand in market places. Therefore, keeping the employees happy could make a big difference in the marketplace of Amazon as the employees are receiving the time and care that they deserve, the outcomes will result in a positive way
By using the Contingency theory, we will adapt according to the needs of our employees in order to take Amazon to the next level. In the article, the employees argued that the work hours are extremely unrealistic also that workers have to work harder and longer with each task not to mention the poor working conditions. If any employee is given a dedicated time and is happy with its job, he/she is proven to be more effective while being more efficient. Similarly we can resolve this by adapting with the availability of the customer to make sure that we can get as much productivity and efficiency out of them. We can make sure to schedule a more flexible time that can be set by the employee depending on its free time. This will ensure a constant positive attitude which will not only benefit them, it will also benefit Amazon as a corporation.
Amazon would benefit from this as this will encourage potential workers to be part of Amazon in the workplace. Furthermore, It will help the mental state of the employees. Working in a factory is a tough job and making sure that the employees are happy is something that should be very important for Amazon.
In conclusion, My theory will help Amazon greatly as there will be a positive attitude. It is proven that humans tend to work well when they are happy with their surroundings and in general. We can use this fact to our advantage and adapt depending on the needs of the employees. All in all, by using the contingency theory, I truly believe that it can help Amazon reach their intended goals and ambitions in its future.
