Volunteers through the Healing Haiti organization travel to Haiti and collaborate to build homes, and schools, or provide necessary supplies. The main goal is not specifically to bring supplies or build structures, but it also shows the individuals how to work well with others. Construction work requires a joint effort from multiple participants. The word team generally stands for ” together everyone achieves more”. Teamwork teaches individuals discipline, how to listen to others, and helps them to understand what is going on around them. Students from Benold Middle School annually come together to rake leaves in the yards of nearby homes. Although an obvious goal of the leaf raking is to rake leaves and clear yards, the intention of positively influencing the students is often concealed.
