Death And How It Changed My Status

My story begins with a really hot summer in Pakistan and a shocking news caused a swift change in everyone’s mood. The news was about my cousin, Anum, who passed away at the time. All of my family members were in a shock and heartbroken after hearing about it. She died because of brain hemorrhage and was admitted in the hospital for about two weeks. During her treatment, the doctor said she had a really slim chance of surviving and was put on a ventilator. She was only twenty years old and no one was expecting this catastrophic situation. Her grieving parents and uncles were weeping after her dead body was brought home. I also witnessed this whole scenario and felt sorrowful about her, and her parents who lost a beloved charm from their life. After all, of this everyone in the house was preparing for her funeral. Since we believed in the Islamic faith, therefore, it was supposed to be a burial related to this religion. On the other side, it was my first experience of witnessing this type of ceremony. Mourners from all over the places came especially to attend this funeral.

By examining everything at the time it affected my status differently. At first, I never really took into consideration the reality of death in this society. I asked various questions about death to scholars and my family members. Moreover, I could not really sleep at night because of the fear of death. I started having dreams about death and images began to appear in my mind which were horrific. It also made me more close to my family because the fear of losing a loved one is incurable and made me a better person. Now people have a general idea of how this experience changed my status now let’s take a look at other people and how it changed their status. I’ll pick the girl’s parents as an example because they were the one affected most by this. They could not really eat anything for several days.

On the other hand, they were going over their daughter’s photos and cherished the moments they spent before. Right after her death, it was her brother’s marriage. Her mom talks about how she was so excited about this marriage and prepared special clothes and jewelry. She also explained that after losing her daughter it felt like someone took a piece of my heart which was really sad to hear. All the relatives encouraged them to live happily and hoped for a better afterlife of their daughter.
