Writing in a specific format suited to the subject is essential since each major has its own set of rules of communication. Everyone has different ways to comprehend and portray their thoughts through written means. For instance, a writing class is completely different from a Design class both in modes of expression and design visual representation, such as literary writing uses symbolism and metaphors to convey an idea. Designers represent their work in a way that it is appealing to clients. Design is worked in a technical way however writing is done in a logical way. Design websites use different elements to gain customers and sell their product or services. There are various techniques that a designer looks for in their work. One of them is typography, displaying alphabets in a dynamic way and making a design out of something is what design managers are known for. Moreover colours are used in different aspects to differentiate objects.

Introduction

One is to look at any industry to know that each subject of field is no longer in a one track minded state; rather allows of the incorporation of different techniques and forms of expression that enhance the scope of said field. For instance, divulging into the world of business is competitive and enticing but allowing one to use different techniques of expression as seen in art means that combining the two diverse subjects together can create a world wind on opportunities all in the form of design management. For a person that has interest in both business and art, design management is the perfect option for them. However whatever major one is in they still need to understand disciplinary writing which plays a crucial role in every discipline. Designers use writings in their work in different forms be it through imagery or metaphors. These compositions can be in the form of advertisements, proposals, reports, websites etc. Design Management is a broad discipline where the business and design world combine together. In this field one has to make fascinating advertisements, overtures and much more to attract the bigger market of consumers that need to be impressed in order to entice to view the product. One must follow the disciplinary writing in order to grab clients from all over the techno-world. The higher the number of consumers a company has the better the success of the company will be as sales will increase exponentially. These websites are related to design and give us a picture of Design world. The second website is a blog of a designer who has displayed decorative visuals for students who want to grasp knowledge about photoshop, Illustrator or any other software related to design. The intended audience that these websites are targeting are designers. That can be a graphic designer or individuals who are interested in broadcasting their product or service through advertisements. The targeted market is basically clients who want to obtain critical information of a well-defined product suited to their needs; and presented in a format that is factual, easy to understand and aesthetically pleasing to the eye. Language used in three explore designers persuade the products or service.

Audience

One of the key factors that leads to a booming business is the Audience. Without an audience a business cannot compete with its competitors and would likely fail. Here the intended readers are multiple audiences. Students of design management are one of their prospective clients as these websites have everything a student needs assistance with. Students can use these websites to research about Design software’s such as Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator. Another primary audience can be advertising agencies who can gain knowledge from these as their graphic designers could get a solution from these websites. People are drawn in snazzy advertisements that not only appeal to their needs but also look like a product that is of high quality and will indeed be worth the money they spend on it.

Purpose

Multiple purposes are served by these websites as there are several intended readers who have different perspectives as stated above. The purpose of these websites is to create a platform for individuals seeking help in design. This platform helps them see a bigger picture of their related topics. It acts as a guidance for students struggling with software’s. Graphic designers can view these websites to get assistance from them. This way they could make their sales buoyant. In HOW design they have several fantastic offers for individuals such as competitions that one can enter and can end up achieving something out of it. They also provide employment thus making the economy rise for a better future. They also have a magazine so that the ones that aren’t fond of online websites they could view the magazine. The Mat Hamm website is a blog whose whole purpose is to attract people to see his fantastic work. His typography is an element that designer look for in their work. His fonts can act as an inspiration for students. The anml website is a way to meet different brands and they have displayed several products and services that are visually pleasing. They’re trying to attract as much of the market they can.

Strategies and Language

All of these websites have one thing in common. They have casted off Typography to attract clients. Typography is a key element i. e. viewing words in an order or a way that portrays the whole idea what the subject will be about. As a designer one always look at how the words are stowed. Design is a form of art and one can see the prepossessing on these websites. They have used strategic design which intermingles with their management goals and thus they have created an alluring website. In [image: ]design’s website the first thing that one heeds is the compressed [image: ] which swiftly grabs the attention of the viewer. The typography is placed in an inspiring manner. Next up the banner ad which pops up has been put up strategically which says, “Discover how designers play with dimension and space to create mindbending optical illusions that leap off the page-and wall, and screen. Enter your email to download this article from HOW magazine.” This way individuals would subscribe to them and thus gaining more market share. Moreover, usage of proper bold headings has been done to make the subject really stand out and be distinguished among the rest of the website. The colours here are dull as compared to the other websites.

Formal language has been used because there main aim is to persuade clients that the website and magazine are the best in the market, with quality reassurance that the product is equipped with all the essential elements. They also have used an informative tone guiding the reader about the different things they offer since the most important thing about any market is to appeal to varying audiences whose needs also differ, providing information in a clear format means that the reader is less likely to have to struggle to find key information when it has been provided in a concise format- which is not only less time consuming but much more efficient and productive way of showcasing a company's ability to provide. The second website, Matt Hamm, has more aesthetic visualizations and pleasing illustrations. Primary and secondary colours are used and as a designer these strategies appeal to the eye, because unfortunately the phrase ‘you can’t judge a book by its cover’ is not always the case in the designing industry when a product needs to look like it’s worth. As a viewer opens the website the first thing that he will glance at is. The blogger is trying to inform the readers about his background and giving them an idea that what the website will be about as he adds designer there. The language that has been used in the illustrations is mostly formal that is trying to convince clients. They are placed in the illustrations and are portraying all the design principles. The third website, has used typography in the main name which is in a symmetrical order. Usage of contrasting fonts has led to a spectacular image. Readers can get the idea that they are trying to show.

Furthermore, they have displayed statistics in an amazing way because numbers shown on charts are much easier to comprehend as oppose to just paragraphs of statistics which makes it interesting for the reader and grabs the attention. Formal and informative tone can be seen as they claim, “ We specialize in visual design, user experience, strategy and development of highly engaging experiences that move people and make an impression. ” In the “Academic Discourse Across Discipline,” Ken Hyland (2009) points out, “Genre helps us to harness the power of generalization: grouping together texts that have important similarities in terms of rhetorical purpose, form and audience, and then exploring how they differ from other text types.” Here Hyland says that text differ from each other based on the genre. So the different websites are trying different ways to attract customers to their websites. The author is trying to attract as many clients as possible by providing almost all the resources a designer needs. Different strategies are used by people as there perspectives are not similar.

Implications

According to Hyland (2009), “Second language students often experience even greater problems as they encounter writing conventions which can differ considerably from those in their first language. These frequently demand that students are more explicit about the structure and purposes of their texts, more cautious in making claims, clearer in signposting connections, and generally that they take more responsibility for coherence and clarity in their writing (Clyne, 1987). Students’ previous experiences with texts therefore count for little when they arrive at university and their familiar ways of writing are no longer regarded as legitimate for making meaning” (p. 6-7). Coming from a background where English isn’t spoken quite often creates numerous problems for students.

There school doesn’t focuses on detailed text or readings but just gives a minimum understanding of it. However when they enter into university they have to tackle various issues just because English was not there first language. In time if they do not cope with this problem it could become problematic. In “Perspectives on the Disciplinary Discourses of Academic Argument,” Gardner points out the differences and similarities between an essay, critique, research, explanations and reports. If one reads such detailed posts he can clearly understand disciplinary writings. She also elaborates that metadiscourse and discourse leads us to understand argumentation in essays and takes us to the bottom of distinctive disciplinary of argumentative essays. These readings clear the meaning of disciplinary writing for a student who had no clue about it before.

Conclusion

In conclusion critical analysis of examples of different marketing strategies done in the world of design management showcases the need to bring a business mind a form of expression. Which is creative and helpful in conveying key information and meeting the demands of the consumer- working on not only making sure that the products are aesthetically appealing but also provide the vital information that is required for the customer to read- such is seen through the use of disciplinary writing which needs to specific in alluring a customer in with strong descriptive narrative with bright and bold statements to draw a reader in, but also informative and inclusive of charts and graphs that help to summarise key points of information. Hence, when one is to combine the two worlds of design and business we are only to look outside to see the result, billboards and posters to extensive articles.
