Equality In The Declaration

The women were fighting for their rights which is equality because they were considered just like objects. The government did not give the possibility to act and practice like men. Thus, to have a little consideration, they decided to protest for certain rights such as the right to vote and to work like men. According to the current events “millions of American women exercised their right to vote for the first time.”(Group 5 what is Women’s Suffrage) This quote supports the idea because the American women did not have the right to vote like men and they were fighting for that to make it possible. Also, “American women were autonomous [independent] individuals who deserved their own political identities.” (Group 5 what is women’s suffrage) This quote means that women did not have same right like men and they did not have the possibility to work or vote. “that is, the idea that the only “true” woman was a pious, submissive [does what they are told to do] wife and mother concerned only with home and family. Put together, all of these contributed to a new way of thinking about what it meant to be a woman and a citizen in the United States.” (Women’s Suffrage) This evidence explains that the women were supposed to stay at home and doing nothing else besides cooking, cleaning and taking care of the children. So, everybody did not have the same values of equality. In short word the reasons that caused the women to fight is they were not allowed to vote and be equal to the men.

The United State practice its values because they welcomed well the immigrants and give them the ability to follow their dreams. Also, everybody have the same right like equality, life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness.“ Barack Obama went on to become President of the Harvard Law Review and a U.S. senator representing Illinois. In 2008, he was elected President of the United States, becoming the first African-American commander-in-chief. He served two terms as the 44 president of the United States”.(Who is Barack Obama.)This quote means that Barack Obama is a black African men and with his skin color, the people elected him to be the president of United States. This shows that the level of racism decreased since President Obama led the country. That black people have more opportunities than they think. However, every people are not being equal in the United States. The blacks are not equal to the white and the women are not equal to the men.“The rich inheritance of justice, liberty, prosperity, and independence, bequeathed by your fathers, is shared by you, not by me. The sunlight that brought light and healing to you, has brought stripes and death to me. This Fourth July is yours, not mine. You may rejoice, I must mourn.”Declaration of Independence Values: Primary Sources. This quote mean that the rich inheritance, prosperity is not shared with the Negro(black) and also it means that the fourth of july is for the white because it bring them happiness, and healing, and the fourth of July is not for the Negro(black) because they are not included and it bring them sorrow, sadness, and regret.

The United States does not practice its values of equality because women do not have the same power as men, and black people are not equal to white people. The women were fighting for their rights which is equality because they were considered just like objects. The women were supposed to stay only at home and did all the works like cleaning. Thus, to have a little consideration, they decided to protest for certain rights such as the right to vote and to work like men. The black people also were protesting to have the same right as white which the right to equality and freedom. For a Connection from today, we have Trump who became president and who has the racism to same countries or example; Yemen and Syria and libya, Afghanistan and other countries like Mexico, also the band these countries, Because same are Muslims and same are poor countries, but Mexico the built a huge wall in the border for not letting them come to the United States.
