Evaluation Of The Main Skills For Manager In Tourism Sector On International, Natiolal And Local Levels

International Tourism Sector

Being an Operations Manager, I am the one who is supposed to be patient in all aspects of the Tourism Industry. Because, I need to understand and share the feelings of another, usually customers. Such as, travelers from Japan who wants to visit New Zealand. I have been applying these 5 different Management Skills to sell customer’s service or products to the International Tourism Sector. According to Tourism New Zealand, Almost all New Zealand in March 96% of them surveyed strongly agreed that International Tourism is good for New Zealand.

Empathy and Emotional Intelligence

Being an Operations Manager, I have to be patient in all aspects of the Tourism Industry. Because I need to understand the feelings of others, usually customers. For an example, visitors from Japan. Even though they have a different culture, I should apply this skill to relate their culture and needs. I need to be patient because most of them don’t know how to speak English well. I should understand the thoughts they want to express, during their travel here in New Zealand.

Teamwork

My colleagues and I need to collaborate, especially effective and efficient to get more sales and attract tourists. I have to apply this skill to be successful in the workplace and also to provide more good services to all visitors especially international tourists, and also encouraging them to come back. Because they have been feeling valuable experience during their travels because of our good team players.

Stress and Time Management

There’s an instance, in the workplace when something goes wrong, so I have to apply this skill to resolve conflicts. If I can’t apply this skill it will cause severe circumstances, which makes an effect to tourism sector if you’re not able to handle some situation.

Problem-Solving

I have to apply this skill as being Operation Manager of Hobbiton to resolve some problem and to prevent some issues in the workplace. I have to communicate to customers to know the root cause and propose a solution.

Strategy and Innovation

To get more sales and to attract more tourists from another country like Japan. I think we need to make or putting some signage written with their language, so it will be convenient for them to travel anywhere not only n hobbiton but anywhere in New Zealand. Furthermore, it’s easy for them if we are able to assign some staff which knows how to speak Japanese as well when needed.

National Tourism Sector

It is important to apply this skill in National Tourism Sector, this is the ability to understand the feelings of others. For instance, that New Zealand likes to travel to another country most often in Australia.

Teamwork

In order to ensure that visitors returning home keeping to promote Hobbiton to family and friends, It is essential to continue to have valuable experience here. We have to support the expansion of the sector and increase the number of visitors spends.

Stress and Time Management

I have to organize myself and also my workplace to prevent stress during my duties. An instance, some tourist has negative emotions and feelings from interaction with people and the environment during their travel. I have to be patient to communicate New Zealanders with a different attitude.

Problem-Solving

New Zealanders usually traveling in other countries because they have different reason and needs. They include sightseeing, relaxing, adventure and visiting friends and relatives. I think we need to solve some of problems why they most likely to spend their holiday instead here.

Strategy and Innovation

As Operation Manager, I have to propose some method attract more tourists to visit not only in Hobbiton but also around New Zealand. They also remain a highly seasonal destination, and I would say that we have to work closely with others in the sector and share our knowledge of what the customer is looking for. We need to improve some places, adding more facilities, build a huge team park which young person likely the most.

Local Tourism Sector

In Local Tourism Sector, tourist expects to receive exceptional service when staying at a hotel, visiting a restaurant. Therefore, we have understood their feelings, what kind of service we need to provide to them. In addition, according to my research indicates that though most New Zealanders support tourism people’s attitudes are being affected by the rapid growth.

Teamwork

As teamwork, to attract more tourists we have to sell more memorable experience for all travelers, providing more good service. Because is important part of business, trying our best in any circumstance. We can implement the problem with help of the team.

Stress and Time Management

An orderly way to organize how to do the things I have to do. to be able to perform my responsibilities. According to The local tourist, when you are local it’s easy to fall into a rut and do the same things. When you are the tourist, It’s easy to visit the places that other tourist visiting.

Problem-Solving

Domestic tourism has been increasingly steadily in New Zealand a long period of time. In fact, many tourism businesses would not survive If it not for the year round support of domestic visitors. We have to solve issues to prevent problem like these. We should encourage greater and more effective investment in the sector.

Strategy and Innovation

As the world becomes globalized and connected consumers are adopting digital technologies, we have to promote more often the beautiful places not only in Hobbiton but also around New Zealand by the advancement of technologies.

Summary

On these three Tourism sectors, I would say that I’m suitable to apply on the position of Operation Manager. Because, I can apply my Management Skills required in selected range of International, National and Local. I have the ability to handle the entire situation and I am able to organize, plan, and manages the growth and success of the team. And being able to attract and encourage more tourist to come and visits New Zealand.
