The human soul is in two parts which is the reasoning and the non-rational part that we share with animals. What makes us humans different from animals is our ability to reason, animals are guided by their instincts if their instinct is to kill, they go ahead with what it dictates. Moreover, freedom is a crucial part of our reasoning part. In this freedom essay will be an attempt to reveal the concept of freedom within reasoning part of human soul.

For humans we often at times must deliberate on whether you engaged into something or not even though we at times fail to make use of it. Many times have I been guided by emotions take for example when in school and I feel anxious or just tired most of the time my performance that day is so bad .Not that emotions are bad they also play a pivotal role in decision making but its best when reason takes the wheel.

Reasoning is also vital when two choice are presented on a person. Take for example I may want to both study and watch a movie I cannot do all this because I have an exam to study for. This is where the will comes in in general the object of the will is good. All these two options will give me happiness but only one is a real good that is will give me happiness that lasts which is studying. The only two objects that can refrain me from making a rational choice is either ignorance or coercion. I may be subject to certain pressures that may result in my choice being changed but at the end of the day I am responsible for the outcome.

Failure to use reasoning is what results in the irrational use of freedom. I presume the basis as to why people make use of freedom irrationally is because of our passions override our sense of reasoning. In general freedom offers the means to achieve many human ends for example happiness and I perceive at most times when we are making a choice that is irrational we try to convince ourselves into thinking that the action we are to do does not contravene morality. Even though the resulting happiness lacks sort of values it is satisfying my inclinations even though its evil and nit fulfilling my purpose probably.

Freedom is the ability to make conscious and intelligible choices. Freedom in general enables one to choose what is good. Freedom is a power that is rooted in will and reasoning and often we tend to make use of it irrationally though it is not a freedom that one would intelligibly wish to have.

Usually a person is faced with choices to exercise their freedom and one generally needs to deliberate on the choices that are presented in front of them. This can be done by assessing the truth or the facts in accordance to the choice that you have to choose from for example a teenage couple that wants to engage in sexual intercourse they have two choice either to have it or not. A rational person would simply gather information or facts and deliberate pertaining to what you are to engage in rather than act on your inclinations. What will make them make use of their freedom irrational is the absence of reasoning.
