Generosity: An Intrinsic Part of Filipino Culture and Identity
One of the values that are known to us Filipino is possessing the value of generosity. It's good to hear that Filipinos we're known from other country citizen's for being Generous. It's undenial since there were many Filipino citizen's prove it and possess it. There is nothing in this world that doesn't have the opposite, if the opposite of pretty is ugly, hate is love off course generosity has greediness as well. Generosity comes always from a persons heart and desire to help and give. In this generosity essay I will share my viewpoint at this cultural value.
Generous people are the ones who give more than is expected of them. A generous person gives more of something, especially money than is usual or expected. A generous person is friendly, helpful and willing to see the good qualities in someone or something. A generous amount is much larger than is usual or necessary. Lastly a generous person is willing to give without expecting something in return, a person is voluntarily giving a help with no entensions.
Generosity can be seen everyone posses by everyone. Our government has this value, for they provided Filipino this Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4P'S), to give for those family who are marginalized. There were some politician who possess this value like senator Manny Paquiao, he shares his blessings through giving of money and food packs to every Filipino family. Angel Locsin the most prominent philanthropist actress is being called as a Literal Darna because with or without media she is giving money and food packs to those families who are affected of any disaster in the country. Practicing small acts of generosity can make a person to have a good heart.
'Greediness' can be a connotation of generosity. If a person doesn't give anything, especially if there were people needing a help, there is an absence of generosity. People who are willing to give everything they have especially if people needed a help, there is generosity. The closest synonym for generosity is charitable. Something that has to do with helping people who needs assistance. A charitable act might include volunteering in any organization.
In conclusion, generosity comes always from a person heart and desire to help and give. Generosity exist in everyone's attitude as well as the greediness. No matter how poor a person is , he should always extend his arms to help. Money is not always the bases of determining one's generosity. It could be in spending time with people who seems advise, it could be in volunteering in any organization. There's a lot of way to show generosity to someone.
