How Did the Treaty of Versailles Lead to WW2
World War l and World War ll were important times in history because over 16,000,000 people were killed during these wars. Germany retaliated against other European powers because of what they felt was their mistreatment by the Big Four. The conditions in many countries allowed dictators to take control and abuse their power. In how did the treaty of versailles lead to ww2 essay will be an attempt to discuss this question and make a deeper analysis of how WWII led to the rise of totalitarianism.
World War l began in 1914 after the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand, The war lasted until 1918. More than 16 million soldiers and civilians were killed during this time period There were a lot of german troops that started to cross over the border and when Archduke Franz Ferdinand set off rapidly escalating a chain of events that occurred during Austria Hungary and their allies were going around blamed the serbian government for the attack and hope to use the incident as a justification for war. The people that won the war was Britain, France and The USA and the people that lost was Germany, Austria/Hungary and Bulgaria.
The Treaty of Versailles lead to World War II because it was a peace settlement signed after World War l had ended in 1918. The treaty was signed at the vast Versailles Palace near Paris between the Germans and The allies. The most important politicians were David Lloyd George, Georges Clemenceau and Woodrow Wilson. There were hundreds of people that were involved in the process and the final signing ceremony. This left Europe very devastated, Hundreds of people were involved in the process and the final signing ceremony. In the aftermath of World War I Germans struggled to understand their country’s uncertain futures. The German empire was split and had to pay reparations. People faces poor economics conditions very high unemployment and also political instability. Adolf Hitler and the Nazi party offered simple solutions by exposing people fears. Germany wasn't invited to negotiate but instead they was giving difficult choices to either be sign or to be invaded. Giving the previous years there was a lot of bloodshed that germany had caused this is the reasoning for the Treaty of Versailles. In addition the Germans’ empire from 1914 split.
A totalitarian is a person advocating the totalitarian system of government which is dictatorship. The first totalitarian leader was Benito Mussolini. In 1919, he created the Fascist Party in Italy. He ruled Italy as Prime Minister from 1922- 1943. In 1925 he dropped the idea of a democracy and established a dictatorship. He knew exactly what he was doing, He provided military support for a fellow totalitarian Franco for the Spanish Civil War in 1936. With the influence of Hitler, he began to introduce anti Jewish laws. Benito Mussolini downfall began in 1943 when he was voted out of power by his own council and was later arrested upon leaving a meeting with King Vittorio Emanuele. Adolf Hitler downfall began when he was finally about to be captured he refused to be captured and later on killed himself with a single gunshot wound to the mouth in 1945.
Hitler and Mussolini are considered to be zero because Mussolini was elected as the fascist candidate but lost in a socialist sweep. Mussolini was arrested for allegedly collecting arms to overthrow the government. Soon after there were several italian cities were seized by fascist squads who also burned down communist and socialist offices this is one of the reasons why I felt that Mussolini is considered to be a zero. Also the reason that I said that Hitler was a zero is because during his time he killed a lot of jews and sent a lot of troops into war that ended up dying in battle and together they build a relationship that mussolini sent him 50,000 troops to help support Hitler Anti Jews.
In 1919 the allied victory had incorporated sudetenland which had formerly been part of the Austro Hungary. The Germans rejected the newly formed nation witch discriminated against them this occurred because of the great depression and neither country was military ready for war witch was mainly caused by the great depression. Lastly some British politicians admire Adolf Hitler and Benito Mussolini seeing them as the most fascists and strong as patriotic leaders.
The difference and similarities of Hitler and Mussolini is they both were very powerful and they both were dictators. The difference between the two is that Hitler killed over millions of people and mussolini sent troops out to germany to help them fight for battle also Hitler was very Anti Jewish. Also Mussolini killed by his own people unlike Hitler he decided to kill himself before getting captured and was burnt and his ashes were spread all around the camp.
In conclusion, people couldn't speak out about being supportive during this time because people that went against what was said they would be captured and killed for going against their leaders. Other reason why it was not safe to go against the nazi party was that you could be sent to jail for a long period time. Also a lot of them began to have mixed relations and there were getting deported.
