How James Kennedy Became A Knight
James Kennedy was a young boy and started his training to be a knight at the age of thirteen. He had always wanted to be a knight but everyone around his said he would catch the Black Death and die before he even started training, but they were wrong. After years of training, tournaments, and polishing armor, james was finally appointed as knight and given the name Sir Kennedy. While walking down the aisle to be knighted james tripped over the base of the pew and knocked over a line of guards. With the entire church eyes on him he slowly got up and continued walking to the altar. The priest instructed him to kneel and repeat the following. “I will uphold the chivalric code, listen to my king, and protect the people at all costs”.
Sir Kennedy returned home that night to find a surprise party being held in his honor. The local troubadour entertained the crowd while they feasted. The night was amazing and very exciting for Sir Kennedy but the morning was not so pleasant. Besides the fact that he had woken up on the floor in a dress he had been summoned to the castle by the reigning King Charles Martel. He was the last one to enter the castle and looked much less put together than everyone else. Charles announced that the crusades had so far been successful but himself and a portion of his army were to get out that day and help the cause. The knights returned home for a good nap.
At exactly four o'clock pm Sir Kennedy grabbed his longbow and headed out for the castle. The men traveled all through the night until they reached the battle. The king charged the enemies followed by the rest of his army they fought until not one person on the opposing side remained unscathed. Charles turned around and addressed his remaining army “This fight will be known as the Battle of Tours, yet another successful fight for the cause. Because of your great courage and valor the Holy Land will stay that way and forever be in our control.”
Everyone cheered except for Sir Kennedy. He slowly raised his hand up and held it there until the king acknowledged him. “Yes sir kennedy;” he said in an annoying voice. “ Kennedy replied “If we are trying to make this land more holey then where are our shovels?” The warrior standing next to kennedy slapped his forehead and shook his head. Lets just say that Sir Kennedy did not remain a knight for very much thereafter.
