Humans Responsibility For Mass Extinction
The documentary “Racing Extinction” is proof that every species in the world is crying for help but we humans just don’t care. There may be some people who care but I personally some of us don’t want to face the truth because some truth or the reality is somewhat inconvenient to them. Regret is indeed the only thing we will feel when everything or every action is too late to make a change. The documentary was made released in 2015, meaning whatever catastrophe is happening right now has already started years ago. We should love something that isn’t even ours, the Earth isn’t ours but this is our home so what gives us the right to destroy it or let it suffer?
We don’t deserve whatever we have right now because we only take advantage of it. It may sound harsh but the animals, insects or any other creatures are a lot more deserving than we humans. Every day we do things that we don’t even know is affecting the Earth in a bad way. It is said that the common factor that caused the mass extinction was because of the production of carbon dioxide. It can kill the ocean and it is gradually doing so and we don’t even see it. The photojournalists and environmentalists are risking their lives just to show us mindless people that we should act now or we won’t have the future that we were hoping for. This documentary is just any documentary, it made me realize that even with just a simple act, I can slowly help heal our home. We can’t live without the living things around us, animals, trees and such, but without humans, those other species would live in a much more peaceful and harmonious people. We are just a disruption in the food chain, to be honest, and we don’t have the rights to be offended because it is somewhat true. We are killing the Earth and the species that don’t want to be a part of this chaos is being affected because of how greedy one person can be. Money can’t replace life but it can help to destroy or replenish it. We, humans, would be helpless in the future because we won’t be able to function as we used to when something inconvenient would happen to us.
We only have a few years to save whatever we have right now. Photos are evidence of what we once have can never be with us in the future but we can change that. We can take pictures of what we love and be able to take care of it. For a person who loves the ocean I was devastated, I do eat seafood but never in my life, I would hope that I get to taste such beautiful creatures that are now endangered. I would choose to watch them and be able to swim with them, and not taste nor eat them. There are a lot more options, people aren’t just looking for them. But I believe that one person or any person would be much more creative if they truly love and care for something.
