Immigration And Economy
Immigration is argued a lot in the united states, and many ask if its good or bad for the country. Through the last 25 years the increase in immigrants mainly from Mexico has increased generously and with that more jobs have been made and more businesses have thrived. The president of the united states has gone on to make false accusations toward legal and illegal immigrants of this country. He has done so without having actual data to back up these claims. He has stated that Immigrants take more from the United states government than they contribute but the reality is Immigrants contribute more in tax revenue than they take in government benefits.
So, we can understand this better we can look at the contribution immigrants make toward the country every year. first generation immigrants cost the government more than native-born Americans, about one thousand six hundred dollars per person annually. But second-generation immigrants are amongst the strongest fiscal and economic contributors in the united states. They contribute about one thousand seven hundred per person per year. All other Americans, including third generation immigrants, contribute one thousand three hundred dollars per year on average. The children of illegal immigrants who are born here are more responsible with paying their taxes than most Americans who claim immigrants are the problem.
The most said thing that people have completely wrong about immigrants is that they say illegals take their jobs and that is false. Illegal workers take jobs that Citizens feel too high and mighty to do and don’t want to accept the wage that is paid but on the other hand the immigrant will happily take the job and outperform the American. Illegals take jobs in the united states that help the economy in other places, for example a ranch worker or farm hand helps harvest fruits and veggies that are then sold in another market and that helps the economy in a different way. Immigrant construction workers make government buildings or business buildings and then those businesses open and start making jobs for Americans and that in my opinion is not hurting our economy and I think anyone can say the same if they have common sense.
A great example of how immigrants help boost the economy in a different way is when an American woman needs a babysitter after having a new baby and she cant work if she has no baby sitter , now an immigrant woman is asking for the job of taking care of that baby and that allows the American woman to join the work force and that benefits the economy , keeps that woman paying her taxes and being a consumer. The contribution of immigrants is equal or greater to that of any American.
Donald trump also states that the united states economy does not need illegals, but he is wrong because Immigrants are the key to stopping a falling birth rate in the country. Immigrants keep the population going up and that means more people around to work and contribute to the economy in the long run. Social security and many other benefits of that kind also wont be as needed if the economy is thriving.
The POTUS has also stated that immigrants’ children born in the united states should not become citizens because it damages the economy, but he doesn’t explain how. The children of immigrants have shown that they are more productive workers. These children come from homes where they know the meaning of work and what it means to hold a job and the importance of dedication. I am having grown up in a household with an immigrant mother know how hard a parent can push you to do your best in this country and want the best for yourself. I started work at the age of 15 and never stopped since, I also joined the United states army right after high school and that I’m sure did not hurt the economy. We don’t grow up thinking we are entitled but instead blessed to have the opportunities that so many Americans take for granted and it’s not every American but there is a great majority of them who do.
Immigration is looked down upon, but it is done so by the Americans who don’t want to let go of their old ways and stop being racist. There is nothing but proof that immigration is a help to this country and in the end its much less about them feeling like their jobs have been taken than the reality of it all being they just discriminate against those of color. Immigrants are part of the workforce of the most influential companies to the economy. Immigrants have driven two thirds of united states economic growth since 2010. They founded thirty percent of united states firms, including more than fifty percent of startups valued at over one billion dollars. There is nothing but contribution to the economy from immigration and people should realize that. From innovating in many fields to the growth of existing industries, we depend on the ingenuity, creativity and passion of international migrants. In every part of our lives, we are made better by the invaluable contribution of immigrants as together we strive to deliver on the promise of the American economy and the vibrant communities of the great United states that we all call home.
