Over the past few decades, high-tech has revolutionized our view of the world. Technology has given us access to many amazing tools and resources, all of which are available at our fingertips. Modern technology has made it possible for the discovery of many functional and useful devices (e.g., automated escalators in malls) that can make the lives of humans easier, by doing everyday tasks for them. Everyone in this world has, in one way or another, experienced how technology can change their life and so, it’s positive impact on our lives does not go unnoticed. The modern world is unimaginable without “everyday necessities” like electricity, computers, vehicles, among other things. That being said, there have been other major developments and discoveries that have changed the world as well. An example would be the discovery of coal in 1679 by French Explorers. This unique discovery had a similar effect at the time as technology has today because coal was resource that had many uses (e.g., generating electricity). The latter example proves that our world has evolved as a result of many different things, not just one.
The digital world or technology is especially helpful in the domains of education and gaining skills. Teachers use technology to teach their class, along with deliver knowledge and skills in newer, more innovative ways. As technology simplifies access to educational resources it helps students to gain knowledge from different resources such as YouTube, Teachertube and many more. Moreover, technology is linked to changes in future modes of transportation and pattern of work. Though these aspects are themselves affected by the current climate of economic uncertainty, as well as by the political shifts in our country, Pakistan. Technology allows people to early find different modes of transportation. For example, if some wanted to go to Islamabad from Lahore, they can easily look up for modes of transportation on their devices and could take a plane to get there instead of a bus to safe more time. Given the increased use of digital technologies in the workplace, new skills needs have emerged, and employers have much higher expectation for job candidates. Indeed, people now have to continue revitalizing their skills and knowledge in order to keep abeam with advancements in our world as a result of technology. This can bring up many social and economic issues. It’s mainly because some people would be opposed to the idea of technological advancements in our world (perhaps think that technology ruins children) and other may not be able to afford high-end technological devices. In addition to this, technology skills have to be updated every three years in order to have any ongoing relevance. This implies to the workforce in general, where priority is placed not so much on knowing the information, but rather, on how to find it and the ability to assess its quality, along with reliability. Digital technologies have pervaded more than places then just the workplace, it is evident that technology is needed for day-today activities as well (e.g., booking a doctor’s appointment or for online banking). For some members of society, like the “digital natives”, using technology is natural and, unfortunately, at times it is an addiction. At the same time though, various stakeholders educate members of the society on the safe use digital technology, as well as of maintaining appropriate behavior online. To conclude, even though technology is used in many different sectors, everyone should have an equal opportunity to get the benefits on digital learning!
The Lahore Safe City Project is a current security and protection system designed for traffic management, anti-terrorism monitoring network, integrated catastrophe response, and other uses. This project is highly interesting as it the first time something like this is happening in our city! According to the Punjab Safe City Authority (PSCA), this project is also being used as a face identification software, number-plate identification software, mobile command center, and for other purposes. This project has brought number of administrative changes at the police level also (many police officers were recruited to do this project). Cameras and other technological devices have also been set-up on special command/control vehicle that travel around the city. They survey the city for 24 hours to prevent organized crime, terrorist attacks, and vandalism. Moreover, authorities have introduced an android application that has the ability of “automatic number-plate recognition”. This allows traffic wardens to issue tickets to any android cell-phones breaking the law on roads. The application also gives access to information about the vehicle on road, its ownership, the driver’s national identity card number, and the vehicles license number. Another android application, called the “Women Safety Smartphone Application”, has been introduced too, by the Punjab Safe City Authority (PSCA). This helps any female around the city who is in trouble to call for immediate help. Overall, Lahore’s many departments (including the transport, environment, waste management, traffic engineering and railway police department) are fully committed to making the city a safe place. They can and are accomplishing this goal by using digital technology such as cameras.
Technology is very powerful and nothing is as good as technology at enhancing life. Even though this is both good on paper and on the surface there are downside to this. Technology can affect life both emphatically and obstructively. New technology always changes our life very much and takes it to an advanced level. It is like the new way of thinking or doing the normal things differently, better and much more faster with less inconvenience and at a much affordable rate. Visualize life before Electricity, life before the Automobile, life before the Telephone, life before the Computer, life before the iPhone. Before those technologies life was much less complex but it was at the same time very tough to get many things done with just the twelve hours of visible light that we are given with each day. New technology brings new standard to the lives of human beings but also has a side effect. What I have observed is that usually human beings tolerate this side effect for as long as it takes until that current new technology becomes irrelevant and again new technology has to be originated. I once peruse something that once said, Make something that will make people believe they are thinking and they will love you forever, but if you make something that will make people believe then they will hate you. So in simple words, Recent technology can improve life both positively and negatively. The regime that will surface in few years to come will far outweigh what has been experienced in the past. In the future, there is the chance of each housing unit generating its own energy. Technology brings a lot of prospective that will continue to transform the way we live like never before. As homes are evolving from regular homes to digital homes where everything works through the use of technology. For example, kitchens have gone from having to do things using your physical capabilities to where you can sit in a chair and your bread will be toasted in two minutes through the use of toaster. Humans do not like to work, they rather have something be easier for them than hard. Therefore, companies are taking advantage of this by creating products that make tasks, in our home easier for us such as, Air Conditioners that can be controlled through the use of remote. Without technology life would be very hard and behind. Technology has brought many significant things such as the ability to have light during night by using what we call Electricity. . Let us use electricity as an example, Electricity unescortedly has taken life on earth for human beings to another dimension. Visualize how bad your day can be and how your life gets stuck if there is no electricity just for four hours. Electricity is the most versatile fire root on the planet, even though we’ve only depended on it for about 100 years now. It’s been only hundred years and look how enhance life is as compared to 5 centuries ago. So imagine if we had been depended on it from the very start, Life would have been very much preferable... People like Newton, Galelio, Maxwell, Gauss, Kepler and others would have progress far more better tools that make life better for all human beings. Imagine a 1000 years with electricity? Life would be in a different dimension… I wish I could live to witness that.

There is a cheap way of connecting with friends and family via social media and now you don’t have to remember people’s birthday because social media can always remind you.
