Innovation As A Value
Notably, different values are crucial when used or applied by an individual. Basically, some are more important than others and therefore, self-reflection should be applied to determine the most important values in one's life. However, I tend to think innovation is the most core value which I require and which has saved me from difficult situations altogether. The aim of this paper is to discuss innovation as a value, and why I hold it dear. I like defining the term innovation as the ability to come up with new ideas, or methods to aid in a certain predicament. The value is so much important as it has helped me in various situations like conflict management. Surprisingly, the latter requires the discovery of new ideas to ensure that conflicts are solved without hurting both the involved parties and people. Older conflict management methods are determined to be obsolete and are proving hard to solve conflicts nowadays.
Therefore, when a person holds innovation as a value, they will get a tendency of coming up with new ideas which would greatly improve such a discipline. Innovation also helps me as a student to organize my time and create ways which would help me study better. For successful studying, conflict management, among others aspects, innovation as a value should be practiced and adopted by people, inclusive of students. Similarly, innovation helps a person to grow and it's a value which can be applied even in a business setting. Personally, I learned the importance of the value after encountering a scenario which required me to be creative. Am a bass drum beater, which is more than a passion to me, and innovation is a value I have seen to be very crucial for my passion. I was taught back in an instrumental school on how to operate a drum and the key tones which are mainly used with the drum.
However, in most scenarios, various tones are required to be applied by the drum beater since there are numerous musical categories in the World Today. If I lack innovation, there is no way I can be able to operate efficiently and make people appreciate my skills. Putting it in my real life situation, there is this one time I had an opportunity to play drum set in a certain community event. The participants of the event were performing cultural acts and songs which required a specific and special set of skills to enable play the drum set. I was the only skilled drum beater in the community and there was no chance of I could back out. Therefore, I had to be innovative to be able to be in tone with the community performers. I combined a set of skills which were unused and uncommon in drum set beating and I realized how innovation is important in one's life. If it helped me in such a predicament, am positive that if applied in other areas and other people, it would lead to a tremendous success, both personally and in the field of business.
In a nutshell, innovation is crucial in improving our way of lives. This can be supported by Sharma who declared "Dreamers are mocked as impractical. The truth is they are the most practical, as their innovations lead to progress and a better way of life for all of us. " Hence it's crucial we all become dreamers, as it will improve the World we live in today.
