Martin Luther King Jr The Idealistic Hero Of Today

What makes a hero? Today a hero is someone who is determined to do the right thing. Someone who is always helping others and protecting people. A hero is someone who stands up for equality and believes that everybody deserves a fair equal chance. Martin Luther King Jr embodies all these characteristics, he is a modern day hero. Martin Luther King Jr was not well liked when he was alive but today he is beloved for many of his great characteristics. He was someone who was determined to get people of colour the rights they deserved. He was so determined even after going to jail 29 times he kept on fighting for their rights.

This shows how determine he was. Even after being oppressed so many times he still kept fighting for their rights. Another fantastic characteristic of Martin Luther King Jr was that he was peaceful. King always advocated for peaceful ways of protest. He once said “The ultimate weakness of violence is that it is a descending spiral, begetting the very thing it seeks to destroy. Instead of diminishing evil, it multiplies it. ”.

You can tell from his words that he would always protest peacefully and never wanted any of his followers to use violence. In addition to those characteristics, he also vouched for equality. He wanted everybody to be equal around the world and it was clear from his “I have a dream” speech. He said “I have a dream … that all men are created equal”.

You can see that he wanted to get rid of discrimination and free people of colour from oppression. To sum everything up Martin Luther King Jr is a modern day hero with many admirable qualities. He was a determined man peacefully fighting the oppression of white people to earn rights for people of colour. He will always be remembered as a hero.
