My Goal To Pursue A Masters In Computer Science
I firmly believe that a career that involve research with the opportunity of working with the cutting edge of technology, can result in facing numerous intellectual challenges, which, when solved, can result in enormous satisfaction from the creative and innovative standpoint. With an aim to finding the key to any problem presented by a particular research, my goal is to be a Professor/Scientist in the field of Computer Science with research interest involving the application of Human-Computer Interaction in the field of Software Engineering.
Information Technology fascinates me from an early stage of my life. I have pursued my undergraduate studies in Computer science & Engineering to know about the different concept like Numerical analysis, Digital system design, data and telecommunication engineering, operating system, algorithm, data logic system, data structure, human-computer interaction etc. I felt that it is the way engineering should work-combining creativity and mathematical ability. Though I was afraid of programming at first, with a gradual acquaintance and my growth in interest, I was able to get a strong grade on the subject. Inspired by the insight gained from this primary CS course, I went on to learn Object-oriented languages such as Java, C++, C# etc. All these experiences with programming really helped me to excel in fundamental Computer Science course Data structure and algorithms course. Obtaining highest grade in both theory and lab gave me a considerable confidence boost. At that time, I also garnered some experience in competitive programming. Although it lasted for a short span, it was really a useful tool to further sharpen my programming skills. All these efforts really helped me gain sound results.
As my interest in CS continued to grow, I decided to explore another subject Data Mining and Data Warehousing in the form of my thesis “Prediction of the total death toll for Ebola outbreak using a Machine Learning Technique”. All the tireless working behind thesis project became really fruitful at the end as it helped me gain a lot of knowledge on a topic so versatile, with applications ranging from economics to biology. I developed a few projects as I felt it would be a great test of my programming skills obtained thus far, most significant among them was Car Sales Management System (to enable a connection customer and seller). Being the first large-scale project, this project was the real test of my determination and patience. I myself had to do the whole project by myself including frontend and backend server (using Codeigniter PHP framework )development along with debugging, testing. These comprehensive efforts were aptly rewarded when my project was implemented for a minor local community. Other than this, I also developed School Management System using Java Language, Premier League Management system using C# language, Flight Management System using C++.
After B. Sc. I started an SE job at Softvalley solutions (A sister concern of Axway Inc. USA). Through this, I was introduced to Appcelerator IDE, which is a really useful tool to develop cross-platform mobile apps, thus it was easy to gain so much more knowledge related to REST (Representational state transfer) and SOAP (Simple Object Access Protocol) application programming interfaces and implement them alongside getting a golden chance to be more familiar with JavaScript, which can be considered one of the most popular programming languages at present, which also ensures seamless transition from web to mobile app development, which can be really time saving. Currently, I am working as a Software Quality Assurance Engineer at Secure Link Services Ltd. I am learning to estimate, prioritize, plan and coordinate quality testing activities. Continuous progress is the key to life. So to continue this progress and further develop my skills, I also managed to do some online courses on Software engineering and Machine learning to ensure whatever challenge is in front of me, I am ever prepared to face it. Therefore, I think all these experiences in CS field, which started from a simple C programming course has inspired me to study how humans interact with code and design new ways to build software and thus, to work at the intersection of software engineering and human-computer interaction. I believe excellence in human-computer interaction can improve several aspects of improving the quality of life, increased productivity Etc.
I strongly believe that Master’s Program in Computer Science at The University of Texas at San Antonio will provide me the opportunity to satisfy my hunger for knowledge and enable further honing of my technical and problem-solving skills acquired thus far. I am fully aware of the commitment and perseverance required for research and believe that my attitude and motivation will see me through the challenge. I am also confident that given an opportunity, I can contribute to the ongoing work in your graduate program in a productive manner. I, therefore, look forward to joining your University for pursuing Masters in Computer Science and thus appeal to the Graduate Admissions Committee to consider me for admission and financial aid.
