My Motivation To Pursue A Fulbright FLTA Program
Cultural ambassador (essay)
As a participant of the Fulbright program, I understand the significance of cultural exchange and the role of cultural representation. Through my Fulbright essay, I aim to showcase my motivation and enthusiasm for becoming a cultural ambassador. I believe that this role extends beyond just formal events, courses, and teacher meetings, and encompasses every aspect of my daily life during the scholarship period. I feel honored to have the opportunity to represent my culture and country in the best possible way, and I am committed to being a walking representation of my cultural identity. The Fulbright program provides a platform for me to not only share my culture but also learn and appreciate the cultures of others. I am excited to embrace this opportunity to engage with people from different backgrounds, exchange ideas and knowledge, and grow as an individual. Through my Fulbright essay samples, I hope to demonstrate my passion for cultural exchange and my readiness to take on the responsibility of being a cultural ambassador.
I find the idea of volunteering at a local youth center fascinating since I could interact and act as a cultural ambassador over a longer period of time. During that time, I could relate to and interact with other people learning about their culture and teaching them about mine.
Moreover, I could organize a schedule of activities planned to help others understand and learn more about Uruguay. If I am able to involve other people in activities aimed at developing their understanding of my culture, then their experience will be more meaningful and realistic. I would love to create some invitations and organize special gatherings with a certain topic each day. Hence, I could plan a music day, a food day, or a cinema day where people could interact and share their knowledge on each subject.
Additionally, there is lots of information available everywhere and instead of presenting my culture to other people, I would love to involve them in the process of discovering it. I would set a calendar in which there is a different challenge for each day. I imagine organizing contests where the participants have to do some research and answer some questions related to it. After each day there would be some finalists who pass to the next level and by the end of the month there could be someone who is awarded a Uruguayan citizenship medal.
To sum up, being a cultural ambassador implies an honor and a responsibility that I would love to pursue an FLTA Program.
