My Motivation To Pursue A Post Graduate Certificate Of Health Care Assistant

This quotation has played a significant role in my learning by motivating me to frame my targets and steadily work towards achieving my career goals. One of the biggest advantages in choosing nursing as a profession is the broad range of possible careers that are available under the title of registered nurse. My aspiration of becoming a nurse came from a woman I admire the most, my aunt, who proudly wore her white cap. My aspiration was enhanced with the motivation of my sister. My college “Adarsh College of Nursing” provided an atmosphere conducive to academic growth and helped me to complete my bachelor’s degree in nursing. I believe that a perfect professional is not born merely by reading books but also through hands-on practice, which would thereby contribute to a thorough exposure.
To gain increased practical exposure and develop as a professional, I accepted the opportunity offered by Amar Hospital to join as a staff nurse in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. After working for few years with Amar Hospital I got an offer to work as staff nurse in Cardiac Unit by Fortis Hospital, which is one of the technologically advanced hospital in the World. While doing my job at Fortis Hospital I realized, there are number of learning opportunities available in health sector. Then I made my mind to upgrade my studies to next level in Health science so that I can improve my career opportunities. One thing that I felt during my studies and job that many of the courses in India are very generic. I also researched about courses for a graduate nurse in my own home country, but I was not satisfied by the course syllabus provided by the colleges. When I started searching for universities in India then I found that there are number of reputed universities available with number of courses but as compared to students the number of seats is very lessas I am looking for latest and practical education. World’s leading Hospitals across the globe prefer those employees who have practical knowledge and specialized learning skills. After that I started searching for the country. There are many countries famous for studies like Canada, New Zealand, and Australia etc. Canada is a very safe country to stay in especially for female students. "The person who makes a success of living is one who sees his goal steadily and aims for it unswervingly”.
By earning a Post degree diploma, I aim to challenge myself further be encountering new experiences that would not only enhance my education, but also professional development. The course I would like to pursue is Post Graduate Certificate of Health Care Assistant. In this role I will be able to care for elderly in terms of wellness, acute and chronic illnesses and different variations of presenting symptoms and treatment management. As an elderly care provider, I would be able to provide more comprehensive care and build rapport with the elderly and their families for their own personal health. Everyone knows that India is a developing country. Dramatic growth can be seen in population of India. With the rise in population, there is greater need for fulfilling needs of people with available limited resources. The flexibility in this career enables me to provide better quality health services through evidence-based practice to fastest growing population ethnicity in career that continues to grow with endless opportunities to practice.
In India, there are lot of remote areas which need keen medical assistance. In India, there are countless opportunities available but there is a shortage of skilled workers. Here a skilled worker means people who have practical knowledge/experience of “Nursing” field. Therefore, to overcome shortage of skilled workers to provide better treatment I am aiming to study in your institution, so I can return to my home country to serve those people and give a helping hand to my developing nation.
During my working experience, I have gained various skills to provide critical care to new born, infants and children. Other than learning from classes, I made use of the rich resources in the library and internet to supplement my learning and kept myself abreast of the developments in my field.

Despite the high education standards, the cost of education is comparatively affordable, particularly compared to U. S and U. K. Capilano University has grown into one of the largest organisations in boundary regions of British Columbia. As a part of it, I can partake in variety of recreational activities around campus. It would be a great learning opportunity for me if I get an offer from Capilano University to pursue Certificate Program.
