My Motivation To Study Space Engineering On An Undergraduate Level
It is my privilege to inform you of my goals and career interests to allow you to consider my undergraduate admission. My deepest desire is to contribute to man’s exploration of space, to unlock our potential as a species.
I have the requisites to undertake a rigorous undergraduate curriculum. I have been ranked 1st in my class and I have a penchant for science and mathematics. A very good comprehension of these fields has led me to choose mathematics, physics and chemistry as my major subjects in Intermediate school.
At present I am in my 2nd year of Intermediate education, where I was elected head boy and awarded Student of the Year for my academic record and all-round development. I have achieved A1 Grade (GP 10.0) in my 1st Year and S.S.C examinations (equivalent to GCSE. I have a burning desire to succeed in my life and hence I am always in search of new opportunities and avenues. I strongly believe that new opportunities are to be searched and worked on with persistence.
I took part in numerous academic and social activities which enhanced my communication skills and leadership qualities. I was a member of English club, and also participated in the debate team and academic games which helped me to enhance my analytical thinking and knowledge, allowing me to achieved success in various Olympiads like UIEO, IMO, SIMO, SIPHO, SICHO (state level) organized by Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF), India. I was presented multiple awards by the Regional Science Centre, run by the Government of India. My membership with the science center gave me a great deal of technical experience and skills regarding computers and electronics. My deep interest in astrophysics and astronomy, however gave me the opportunity I most cherish, which was getting selected by the Regional Science Centre to visit and explore the Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SHAR), the launching station for the Indian Space Research Organization. The most memorable part was learning how the technical systems worked at SHAR headquarters. Apart from the academics I also participated in various sports tournaments. I became most fond of playing badminton. As a member of the badminton club in our region, I took part in various competitions, allowing me the opportunity to travel with my team to distant places, and helping me gain a respect for other peoples while also greatly helping me improving my social and communication skills.
Outside of school, because there are few opportunities to appreciate and partake of nature in my city, I launched an urban tree planting initiative. I also organized a rally to help bring awareness to the importance of nature in producing oxygen, filtering air, reducing erosion and reducing flooding. I would greatly appreciate the opportunity to interact with both students and faculty in my specific fields of academic interest and beyond. Indeed, I welcome the opportunity to broaden my own cultural awareness. I believe that labels of race and religion often separate us, and prevent us from seeing our fellow men and women as the individuals that they are. I long for the experiences that would help me become a better citizen of the world.
I have been blessed with an excellent academic education throughout my life, and I seek a university that can provide both personal attention and extensive academic resources along with superior education in the field of engineering. I believe that combining these qualities with my diligence, perseverance, and inventiveness, I will have everything necessary to not only successfully complete my undergraduate studies, but my dream of contributing to our advancements our mastery of space.
With my intense desire to succeed and a strong passion for higher studies in engineering. I feel I am at the doorstep of a successful and prosperous future. I hope that I will be found deserving of this chance, and I promise to appreciate, learn, and benefit from every opportunity given to me.
