One Day In Banff National Park: A Trip To Remember
On a beautiful Sunday in June 2018, my friends and I planned a trip to Banff National Park. The itinerary of this one-day trip included three different locations: Johnston Canyon, Lake Minnewanka, and Banff Town. On that day, I woke up earlier than usual to get myself ready for this trip. We departed at 6 a. m. and then headed to the West via the Trans-Canada Highway. Banff National Park is approximately 130 kilometers away from Calgary. It took us about two hours to get there. Along the way, we had a chance to see the majestic beauty of the Rocky Mountains, which exceeded our expectations. Our first stop was in Johnston Canyon, one of the most popular places for hiking in Banff National Park. We merged ourselves into the crowd and challenged the trail. The passage led us through fantastic forested sections, some vertical cliff walls, and two gorgeous waterfalls. The beauty of nature left me speechless. Unfortunately, the weather didn't favor us. The moment we got there, it started to rain. As a result, there was nothing much we could do besides taking some photos. I have been to many towns, but I never thought that Banff is one of the most beautiful places among them. It embraced by the charming streets and surrounded by mountains. The downtown area filled up with lots of restaurants, unique boutiques, local souvenir shops as well as various accommodations. We enjoyed our dinner in a small fancy restaurant and spent two more hours in this lovely downtown area before heading home. I made a promise to myself that I will revisit Banff soon. This trip was one of the best experience of my life, an unforgettable one.
