A special agent (Federal Bureau of Investigation/FBI) is an agent whose main priority is to protect and defend the United States from terrorists and also threats that affect the United States, even if that means protection from the ground or from cyber-attacks. Also, an FBI agent works for the government and depending on what area they are assigned to or what task they are asked to do, for example, they may be asked to do an interview or go help decode a message. But “there is no typical day for an FBI agent” because one day they can be sitting in court testifying and the next day making an arrest and possibly raiding homes or doing searches “What Tasks Do FBI agents Typically Perform”. The job also requires a lot of time which means that the agents available have to be open because crime never stops but that’s what makes being an FBI agent so difficult and rewarding and stressful. Having this job has a lot of sacrifices and rewards, but never the less the FBI is about protecting the United States and defending at all costs. The Federal Bureau Investigation (FBI) was started in 1908 By Attorney General Charles Bonaparte and was designed to protect and defend the United States also to honor the US Constitution. When the Federal Bureau Investigation (FBI) first started there was a little federal crime being committed so their main focus was bankruptcy, naturalization, antitrust, peonage.
The Department of Justice had no organized group of people that would gather evidence so they would have to hire secret service and private investigators. This would all be done without Theodore Roosevelt knowing but this was all set to change. In 1906 the government began to question where the department of justice would get there Secret Service detectives. The Attorney-general in 1907 was Charles Bonaparte thought that using secret service was a problem because he didn't have complete control over the secret service detectives or could control how much money was being spent. The requirements for the job weren't as high as they are today, for today's world the average cadet will need at least a 3. 0 Gpa and bachelors degrees (2 years) and 3 years of work experience in that type of field or a more advanced like a masters degree (4 years) and 2 years of work-related experience. Most FBI agents get their degree in criminal justice and other law-related degrees also many FBI agents also speak another language to help their chances of getting in. The process of getting accepted is very long and usually includes interviews, tests, background check, drug test, physically test and checking of all of the applicant's past records and past job experience. They will also need to go through challenging training which will include 800 hours of online courses that will include the basics like firearm training, academics, self-defense and of course applying everything to real-life situations. The cadets will also have to pass the physical fitness test (PFT) which will include sit-ups, sprints, push-ups and a timed mile and half run with a total of 12 points of the four tested areas. The firearm portion will include firearm safety and firearm handling and they must perform efficiency in handguns and carbines. Also, the course has 28 sessions and 110 hours of shoot time also they will go through 5,00 rounds of ammunition.
Usually, all the cadets would want to have this trait or characteristic, they must be able to demonstrate these traits Collaboration, Communication, Flexibility/Adaptability, Initiative, leadership, Organized and Quick problem-solving skills. Most Federal agents, that include FBI agents will wear business casual on most occasions but business casual does not include jeans, flip flops, tennis shoes, slippers, etc. . . Employes also have to wear something called business formal and this has to worn when there is a staff meeting or with a meeting with someone from another agency. But when they are at these meetings that require business formal, the clothes should consist of tie, overcoat, pants, skirt or dress for women. The FBI also allows dress down Friday which is when the employe is allowed to wear jeans, t-shirts, shirts and tennis shoes but only if they have to wear business attire. The Typical Hours an FBI Agent looks like they work a minimum of 50 hours and must be on-call at all times no matter what even holidays, birthday and weekends. The pay for a starting FBI agent is 40,00 to 55,00 dollars but can increase depending on how good they are or where they are located, also the FBI agents that are oversea can earn up to 70,000 dollars. But of course, the people who have been working for the bureau before they became will get paid more also the people that have gotten more advanced degrees or just had more work experience. This Carrer can fit the lifestyle of a person who is very interested in criminal justice careers or a job like a detective or just any career that has to deal with doing investigations, But there are some scholarships that are offered, for example, FBINAA Charitable Foundation Scholarship Program.
The program is a yearly scholarship that is offered to 18 people who will all receive 1,000 that fall in the criteria which are must be the child or the stepchild or grandchild of a member of the FBINAA or special agent. Also, the candidate must be a senior and want to continue education after high school advanced Solutions International, Inc. My goal in life is to help people and impact people for the good and help them see the better side of the horrible that happens in life, another goal of mine is to make the people I care about be proud of my accomplishment, and I feel that becoming an FBI agent will make them very proud of me also they would be happy for me since I accomplished my dream. I plan to complete this goal of mine by going to a police academy and becoming a police officer then after 2 years I will become a police detective then stay a detective for a while in order to get a good reputation while trying to gain the attention of the FBI to let them know I want the job and I’m qualified for it.
