Uber Technologies Inc. known as Uber is person to person ride sharing, food delivery, taxi cab and bicycle sharing or in general we can say Transportation Network company which is growing day by day and it covers 785 metropolitan cities and is still expanding its business to cover the rest one areas and it has a huge share in sharing economy. Uber is a private company and its headquarter is situated in San Francisco, California. Basically, company covers two major areas:

History

Uber was founded in 2009 by Garrett Camp who was a computer programmer by his profession who was the former CEO of the company. On the evening of new year camp and his friends hired a private driver for going to their house back for which they had to pay $800 than camp thought about way to reduce the cost of transportation and then he realized that sharing the cost with people could make it affordable and this idea invented the Uber.

In 2010, Uber app was officially launched in the market in San Francisco. At very first this app allowed only to rent a private black luxury car with 1.5 times that of a taxi. Ryan Graves was the first employee of the UberCab and then he became CEO of this company.

In 2011, UberCab changed his name to Uber because of too much complaints from the Francisco taxi operators.

Uber, in 2014 came up with an idea of launching Uber eating which change the whole scenario of individuals by one tap they can get their favorite food at their place without getting stuck in traffic. It is value proposition for company, in returns the drivers are getting income and company getting profits. Value proposition is a promise of value to be delivered to the customers.
