Reflection On Learning Outcomes From Studying Culture And Ethics
Today, I am going to analyses my learning outcomes of academic curriculum which includes culture and ethics. So, what I learned was culture, which comprises of communications, languages, values, norms, religious aspects etc. Other keywords, I came to know is concept of enculturation, acculturation, matrimonial and family system and Ethnocentrism and Cultural synergy and many more. Firstly, we must elaborate the theory of enculturation which simplifies that, it is settling down into new environment, country, cultures, place and adapting to behavior patterns of new human beings and many more.
Chronically, I can relate to this, for me it started when I flew out of my home country. Naturally, the socialization of my adapting to culture I was born and raised, which simply mean enculturation, the language I spoke and then emotional intelligence that is developed after enculturing with social environment. One can completely submerged with cultural values, norms, ethics and behaviors after communicating with paramount elements of civilization which is homo- sapiens. The evolution of living being is done on intercommunication. Personally, the process of enculturation was not known to me, this was some scientific term, but the moment my instructor elucidated it, the incidents that might be on same wavelength with the concept, rankles my mind. All the incidents, memoirs, triumphs, sorrow, griefs, was backed like visual objects came before me.
Ubiquitously, all human being evolves through their social interaction, learn mother tongue from parents and near ones. Acculturation, the concept which all the humans witness after they got migrated to new environment whether international or national. it comes with keywords such as cultural synergy, ethnocentrism, some new integrations, followed by separation (deculturation) in some cases as in a person who just migrated to new country for work or may be higher studies, encountered with diversification in culture, language, in associations and emotional intelligence, which is ability of person to exhibit certain behavior on reciprocal action with living mortals.
Now we can learn some associations like Family and Matrimonial systems, it varies from culture to culture, these social memberships are different in their geographical approach. Some cultures have a strong belief and values, as they considered it as sacred association of two human beings as Nations situated in central Asia. Particularly, Indians considered it as sacred association of two human beings, often termed as “Saptpadi” which means taking seven steps, also have paramount consideration among Arabic, Turkish, Japanese and Italian cultures. Furthermore, intellection of family system include the words such as nuclear family, which is more popular in Asian continent and another one is extended family, and also biological family, these differ according to nations, as for instance if we observe the family systems in Northern American region comprising of Canada, America, Mexico, the majority of persons are not deeply engaged with there family, the main factor is importance of work over family in this part of globe.
So, if I summarized the whole learning outcome of my course I got to know about the terminology such as cultures, dimensions of culture, how culture and communication works, ethnocentrism, emotional intelligence, cultural intelligence and other words concentrating human beings. one can learn from life experiences and social interactions.
Significantly, I have acquired the knowledge about the social interactions involving human beings in addition to it factors affecting the cultures and also different types of ethical concepts concerning cultures and its relevance to business environment.
