Reflection On My Plan Personality Test
The My Plan website utilizes online tests in order to determine your personality, career interests, skills, and values of work. According to (My Plan) personality test, it decided that my personality is an ESTJ, which implies that I am an extrovert, sensor, thinker, and judger. First, I am an outgoing individual, which means that I like to talk to people and be around people. I have a tendency to be around friends and family a lot, and I do not like the idea of ever being alone. Second, a sensor, meaning that I am realistic, careful, and I like to experience things through the usage of my five senses. Third, I’m a thinker, I believe the answer to a decision must be logical and fair. This goes well with me, since I believe that being fair is the right path,
I always try to think about a situation and be as fair as possible to others. Finally, I am a judger, it means that I like to be organized, in control, and sensible. Being a judger is not always great because, I can rush to judgement and I can be a control freak. After that, I did the interests test, and according to (My Plan) it determined that I am enterprising and realistic. This result goes well with me, because I always aimed to serve the people. The result calculated that depending on my interests I ought to be a Firefighter or Police officer, which is accurate, since I want to become a Police Captain. I have always wanted to serve the country and the people, and the My Plan results showed this and was very accurate in my opinion. The Police Captain rank is a higher promoted rank of a police officer, which implies that a higher level of work and obligations are given. The work of a Police Officer may consist of patrolling the roads and reporting to crime, while a Police Capt. does most of the work from the headquarter or office. According to (LAPD), there are 3 Police Captain paygrades: Captain 1, 2, and 3.
The paygrade of a Police Capt. determines whether the Capt. will receive a more difficult and challenging task. According to (LAPD), Police Captains are usually in charge of a detective or patrolling division, which means their duties and responsibilities include: watching over the actions of lower officers, overlooking personnel training and their facilities, and preserving a link with the government and organizations to promote the safety of a neighborhood. Most of the time, a Police Capt. spends their time working with lower ranking Officers to ensure that they are doing their job correctly and efficiently. Not only, but there are many more unique assignments that can be given to a Police Capt. by a higher ranking officer.
According to (LAPD), Police Captains can be assigned to special divisions like narcotics, juvenile services, and numerous more unique ones. In order to become a Police Captain, first I need to become a Police Officer and meet all the requirements. There are many requirements for Officers, some of the basics include: being a United States citizen, never been convicted or received a felony, and having a valid driver license. According to (HDP), it is a must to either have military enlistment time of 18 months or at least 48 credited semester hours with a minimum of 2. 0 GPA. To be able to join the police department, I will have to pass the reading/writing test and also pass the physical test.
According to (HPD), The Physical Agility Test consists of a 1. 5 mile run, 300 meter sprint, vertical jump, and push-ups. Not only, but it is required to attend the police academy. According to (HPD), the police academy is 6 challenging months of training. After the completion of becoming a police officer, I will have to go through the ranks in order to achieve Police Captain. The rank of Police Capt. can be achieved by dedication and hard work. In order to have a higher and faster chance of being considered for a promotion, I can earn a Bachelor Degree which will give me a great boost.
