Renewable Energy Solutions – A Key To A Sustainable Future
Since climate change has been a huge topic recently, working on an oil rig in the ocean or for the energy industry in general probably isn’t the best career to have currently. The entire Earth is running on the fuel that is dug up from deep below the surface. This cannot be sustainable because at some point we will run out. People have noticed the backlash that comes with digging in the ocean and on land whether its environmental or economic, so an entire industry could be on the brink of failure with new technologies such as solar or electric on the rise. Although you may think it is the only fuel that can support our presence on Earth, new products and ideas are beginning to reshape how people think and go about business.
I believe that solar and renewable energy options will be the key to a sustainable future. Oil spills in the ocean have had drastic impacts on the environment and cities on the coasts. With solar, we can use the sun and wind that Earth receives every day to power our infrastructure. I think there needs to be a way that the energy industry could merge into one single company or group of businesses that share common goals and ways to achieve them. It seems nowadays that a lot of people are divided because each share different ideas or beliefs as to how things should be. Each company wants to make money, while currently all the money and deals are tied up with oil, gas, etc.
Growing up, I have always been taught to recycle and throw away my trash. I was told to only use my car if I must because walking or biking is cheaper and cleaner for the environment. If only everyone could see their impact they have on the planet, then I think many would change their minds. There has been too much evidence supporting the fact that gas has a negative impact on the atmosphere. Change is going to be very hard because much of the structure of the industry is based around oil and the use of gas. With other countries around the world moving to solar and wind, I think the United States will too with time.
Overall, I think the most effective way humans can push back climate change is to transition to solar, wind, and renewable natural gases. For too long we have seen that gas destroys the atmosphere with carbon dioxide and oil drilling causes ecosystems to fail causing drastic changes in the environment. With unity and cooperation, we can solve the problem and change the old ways of doing business so that each company in the field can succeed and help the planet at the same time. I know that this change won’t happen anytime soon, while I ask you just take the steps to transition to sustainable and clean forms of energy. Thank you for taking the time to read this and I hope you begin to have an open mindset on the issue of climate change and the steps we can take to prevent it.
