Short Review: "Gossip Girl" By Cecily Von Ziegesar
In the book Gossip Girl by Cecily von Ziegesar a lot of drama happens. Gossip girl is a website that follows the lives of teens on the upper east side New york, but nobody knows who she is. Serena van der Woodsen is a beautiful lady. Everyone knows Serena. Blair Waldorf is Serena’s best friend and she get jealous of her sometimes because it’s always about Serena. Nate Archibald is Blair’s boyfriend but when Serena came back from boarding school Nate has been acting weird. Chuck Bass is a rich and arrogant person. Dan Humphrey is a lonely boy from Brooklyn.
Serena Woodsen is back in Town and she wants to start over because she used to do drags and party all night but after her secret has been revealed to Blair. Nate cheated on Blair with Serena. Blair tried to end her friendship with Serena but she couldn't because they have been friends almost their whole lives , but obviously Nate and Blair broke up. Jenny Humphrey AKA little J wants to be Blair’s off but Blair just using her, while her sibling Dan is dating Serena. Their relationship is just like his father Rufus and Serena’s mother Lily in their youth. Nate tried to confront Serena about his feelings to her in the masked ball party but instead he kissed/confronted his feelings to Jenny because she was wearing Serena’s mask and they’re two blondes. Jenny wanted to tell Blair but she can’t because she didn’t get her promotion, but Nate’s secret revealed anyways. Blair was trying to give him some time to apologize because she still like him but too bad he was distracted by Serena.
Vanessa (Dan’s old friend) returns home and confront Dan about her feeling to him after she has been gone for almost a year When Dan and Serena are just trying to figure out what they mean for each other. Dan tried to impress Serena on their first date. The same night Jenny is invited to Blair’s sleepover and they started to play truth or dare. When Lily found out that her son Eric is missing from the treatment center she asked help from her ex-boyfriend Rufus. Eric is in the treatment center because he tried to kill himself when he found out that his dad left them. When everything is going okay and everyone is happy. Georgina returns (Serena’s old friend) to start troubles with Serena, but Serena told her that she has moved on from her past. Georgina informs Serena that she is ready to spread information about Serena’s past. Of course Blair took her down. Serena think she killed someone because he died while sniffing the cocaine that she give him.
“Once again the world has proven anything you can do, i can do better”. Blair is a strong, and powerful women and this shows how no one can mass with her because she will fight back for herself, friends, and the people she love and most likely she will win. so no need to try. “This is me you talking to, you have to trust me”. That's an example of how Serena didn't tell Dan the truth about her pass. She thought he might change. Serena was acting strange and Dan of course jumped to conclusions and assumed that Serena is cheating on him, when she was just hiding something she thought she’s responsible for.
From reading gossip girl i learned a lot of things like people may hurt you or someone you care about but they can always change no matter how big the situation is. If you really want something you have to work hard to get it. If people want to stop you from doing what you really like than for sure they’re jealous, don’t want you to succeed, and some people actually think that by bringing you down they will succeed, but never let hate go to you. Don’t let your dreams be dreams. Nothing good come easy. You might feel but doesn’t mean you’re a failure because that’s your way to succeed.
I recommend this book to anyone especially if you’re teen, or if you like drama. I don’t like drama that much but i really loved this book. It’s really interesting. You can never guess right what’s going to happen next. Every time you read more and more something unexpected happens and just hit you like a train. I love the characters some of them are mean and annoying but what a boring story would be without them.
