Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar: Movie Review

In work "Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar Movie Review Essay" we will talk about about main themes and narrative of this film. Written and directed by Christopher Nolan, the 2014 film Interstellar is an exceptional film in terms of it being both scientifically accurate and having a brilliant narrative. The film follows a simply structured storyline, but despite the film’s fast-paced, complex plot, the film is effectively explained to its viewers in a followable format. Nolan’s Interstellar, summarized simply, is about a team of astronauts searching for a habitable planet, since Earth is no longer habitable, to support human life. The film casts five Oscar-winning actors: Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Matt Damon, Ellen Burstyn, and Michael Caine. Personally, I regard this film as one of the greatest I’ve ever seen. The film’s accurate use of complex scientific ideas, astonishing visual effects, and unique introduction of thought-provoking concepts make it an outstanding film.

As stated previously, Interstellar follows a simple narrative. In the film, Earth's future, set around the 2070s, has been deteriorated by drought, famine, and disaster. The only possible way to ensure the survival of mankind is through interstellar travel. With the help of a newly discovered nearby wormhole, a team of astronauts searches for a planet that contains an adequate environment to support human life. This film portrays highly intelligent characters that have great emotional attachments to their work, families, colleagues, and to humanity. Kip Thorn, also a leading scientist in the current studies of black holes, was an executive producer for the film. His responsibilities included translating Einstein’s equations and theories into Interstellar to bring it to life. As a matter of fact, Interstellar is the first film ever to represent such scientifically accurate concepts. These are some of the few ways that make the film so unique.

As previously mentioned, Interstellar is by far one of my most favorite films. It represents some of the most thrilling, thought-provoking, and best visually resplendent displays ever to be shown in a single film. For these reasons alone, I highly recommend watching the film. Despite being three hours long, there isn’t a second of boredom when watching the movie, as there is always something to keep viewers entertained. For some, Interstellar is a space movie, while for others it’s about the power of love. For me, it’s one of the most profoundly intriguing and inspiring films to watch. Whatever it is for you, I’m sure the film will leave its mark on you.
