Seduction Theory Vs Oedipus Complex
“The Aetiology of Hysteria' and the “The Interpretation of Dreams” are two great statements developed by Sigmund Freud. This two documents are so popular because talk about psychosexual development and human unconsciousness. However, I am just going to focus on which theory is most convincing the so-called seduction theory discussed in 'The Aetiology of Hysteria' and the Oedipus complex presented in The Interpretation of Dreams. Freud believes that the “Seduction Theory” influences children suffering from sexual assaults in their childhood. The Oedipus Complex originates from Oedipus Rex, a character who killed his father and married his mother. The Oedipal Complex broaches the idea that every children have an unconscious natural sexual attraction to their mothers or men really want to marry women who are like their mothers.
