Sigmund Freud’s Theory Of Sex Developmental Stages
Freud distinguished the developmental stages as the body parts or methods of seeking pleasure vary with the movement of ribbons in body parts. This is called psychological development.
First stage is oral stage (0-2 years old). During this time, there are two forms of mouth action. It is an act of inhaling and biting and spitting. Stuck in inhaling behavior, people become optimistic and dependent by eating and drinking, drinking and kissing. Aggressive behavior of the mouth, such as biting and spitting teeth, appears when stuck, in character, becomes hostile, cynical, pessimistic, aggressive and tries to control others.
Next stage is anal stage (2 to 4 years old). In the first year of life, parents learn that their child's desires are met as much as possible through their parents, but from the point of training, the child's desire is rejected and thus postponed. At this time, Libido is concentrated on the anlages, so if the excretion and desire are met through the bowel movement, the child's excretion is considered important and creative and productive. If bowel training is too strict or poorly learned, hostile, sadistic, or destructive tendencies may arise against the needs of parents. Also, if you feel pleasure in tightening than when you loosen the anal, you are too neat and have a nodding personality. Other inflexible mechanical characteristics and a miserly psychology appear.
Third stage is phallic stage (4 to 6 years old). It is a time when Rebido is focused on his genitalia, which makes him sensitive to objections, and feels pleasure through touching. Recognize gender differences and show interest in birth. The boy falls in love with Oedipus complex and fears about his father's hatred toward his mother. She suffers from inferiority and frustration compared to her son, and at the same time falls into an electronic complex where she considers her father a subject of sexual attachment and antagonizes her mother. Complexity in this period is solved by learning the gender roles of same-sex parents. The degree of resolution determines the gender's political identity and attitude toward adult reason.
And, it is 4th stage, latency stage (6 to 12). Since elementary school, satisfaction with sexual desire is not a stimulus to certain parts of the body, but through social activities such as friends, hobbies and sports. In this period, the principle of pleasure will be abandoned, followed by the principle of reality, and social and moral self-esteem will be shaped by the authority of the father, prohibition or conscience.
Last stage is Genital stage, after the age of 12. Adolescence is a time of integrating sexual urges into normal sexual desire, a psychological reason for emotional liberation and independence. There are conflicts at this stage, though weaker than in the preceding steps. However, the relationship with the opposite sex can develop normally if it is not stuck at any stage earlier. It seeks satisfaction through socially desirable activities such as romantic relationships and peer relationships and sublimates the urge of primitive children.
After I studied about Sigmund Freud’s theories about sex, I strongly disagreed with his ideas. Freud studied people's behavior and analyzed many of them. But I think he is guilty of interpreting everyone's behavior in his own way. As he said, if a heterosexual man smokes a thick cigar, Freud may say that the man unconsciously wants a huge male genital. He over-reacts and overdo at behavior of people especially on “sex” subject. He went too far and misunderstood some behaviors of people on subject, “sex”. His intention to analyze people's behavior and solve them well with sex is good, but I think that by unconditionally presenting an exaggerated false theory, people can have a bad effect because they can have a wrong perception.
