Strengths & Weaknesses Of Apple Company

Apple has been a prominent figure in terms of technological advancements and in the world of business in general. Founded in April 1, 1976, the company has become one that truly culminates the sustainable competitive advantage marketing strategy for its plethora of loyal apple users. Currently Apple users have been facing problems regarding bugs in their software and features of their products. For example, The iPhone 7 having an issue with cellular service regardless of the area, and the recent matter with the iPhone X related to its emergency call function.

This affects Apple’s image negatively and people will change their opinions on the company. These issues resulted in dissatisfaction in the company’s performance and its inability to give a proper resolution, as a result further degrading the company’s reputation. Currently Apple’s SWOT analysis introduces the strategic elements influencing the CEO of Apple’s managerial decisions. The noticeable strength of apple is its strong brand image, high profit margins, and effective rapid innovation processes. This allows them to alter its negative impression back to its original image. These Weaknesses being its limited distribution network, high selling prices, dependence of sales on high-end market segments. These flaws consequently produce inconveniences that Apple consumers complain about “the daily question… of ‘what has gone wrong now’”.

Opportunities with Apple are vast, and the more well-known opportunities are its expansion of the distribution network, Higher sales volumes based on rising demand, development of new product lines. The opportunities can lead to more problems arising due to the increase of product distribution with bugs already in place and development of new product that could potentially have faults in its hardware. Considering that Apple is a tech company and that technology has popular appeal to society. There are many threats to Apple as one of those companies; direct competitors, imitation of products, and increase in labor costs. With these, potential customers to Apple could transfer over other cellphone companies like Samsung.

Apple should focus on the stability of the products then slowly release new innovations to minimize the amount of issues that they have to work with. Doing so, will refine the company’s image and maintain its competitive advantage amongst companies of similar categories. Giving attention to Apple’s product, they do not have information of what the product could potentially become within the year. Therefore, spreading out the releases of new iPhones, MacBook’s, Air pods etc. and also have prototypes to test throughout the year would minimize the total defects of the product.
