Support For “Dreamers” In The U.S.

Individuals who once did not differentiate the right from the wrong, those who referred as illegal immigrants by the U. S. government, now identified as the dreamers. Dreamers exposed to return to their birthplace, this is due to the new president of the United States; Donald Trump, he has not defined the status or future of the dreamers. DACA is an immigrant status granted from the former president Barack Obama to individuals who are in removal concerns, final orders removal or had never been on removal matters. This act permits unauthorized individuals to continue living and working in the U. S. legally.

During the election, President Donald Trump stated, ” I will immediately terminate Presidents Obama’s illegal executive order on immigration. ” He then rejected occupying the issue instead left it on Congress to decide. If the law isn't followed by the people then why even bother to have a bill go through much of a difficult process by the Senate, House of Representative and the president to get it to convert to a law. The former president Barack Obama overstepped his executive authority by passing this DACA program. Keeping DACA and the Dreamers only encourages more illegal immigration to occur and contributes for unaccompanied minors and families to go through risky events trying to seek to enter to the U. S illegally. Following the law is not cruel, cruelty is how parents knowing how risky it can be traveling and trespassing to the U. S. still force their children to come with them.

Supporting DACA or the Dreamers only make the U. S. vulnerable for pardoning and rewarding illegal lawbreakers. It is not fair for the United States citizens because basically is them who pay taxes that take care of illegal immigrants who have to be deported or take care of, meanwhile, the government decides what best for the country. Moreover, the United States runs the risk to have the financial system restrained because of the abuse of helpful programs by some of these immigrants. For example, they entering a region or city that is already overcrowded can stress the market causing to overuse local or federal social services like food stamps, housing support, financial aid, or Medicare. Correspondingly, they are leaving more and more Americans unemployed because of their decision to work for less currency while working for longer hours. In addition, many terrorists and criminals come into the U. S. as illegal immigrants becoming a threat to the nation. Is impossible to have the accuracy to determine which immigrants have good intentions or want to commit crimes like drug-trafficking and illegal activities. Moreover, many dreamers forced to relocate in the U. S. seeking for safety and better opportunities of having a successful life because their home countries were deteriorating due to a corrupt government, dangerous criminal events, an unsteady economy, an awful education system, or poor job rates.

Many Americans believe that the dreamers should not be allowed to stay in the United States because most of them are “criminals, ” they appropriate Americans opportunities or racism dominates. A recent research in immigrants and crime concluded that unauthorized immigrants have a fewer committed crime rate and are less susceptible to commit one than native Americans. Numerous Americans consider that immigrants exceed while searching for a job but both have the same opportunity to compete for the position, it is a matter of who has skills and can contribute more to the employment. Most Americans are racist because they are influenced by people like president Trump, have not engaged relationships with diverse people, have prejudiced thoughts or often attempt to accuse others of their own complication (Humans Right Commission). Many of the individuals who make up the dreamers are honorable, humble, and hardworking people, who are just looking for an opportunity. In addition, there are 1. 8 million young individuals utilizing the DACA program, which later they enter the workforce summing up to, greater income, paying taxes, buying materials and some are even becoming entrepreneurs. Due to this, the net income of the U. S. economy increases. However, what will happen if the new President or Congress determines to eliminate DACA? A recent study from the Center for American Progress concluded that if the DACA program is removed the U. S. economy would suffer it by losing at least $433. 4 billion from the U. S. gross domestic product. It would also take the U. S. government about $4. 7 trillion to execute the policy of mass deportation. “All people dream but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their mind, wake in the morning to find that it was vanity. But the dreamers of the day are dangerous people, for they dream their dreams with open eyes, and make them come true, ” David H. Lawrence once said.

Clearly, Americans will never understand dreamers until they consider things from their point of view until they climb into their skin and walk around in it. Many of them had no idea of the fault they were committing or forced to relocate to the United States. Why the United States? Migrating to the U. S. gave them the option of liberty, safety, and more suitable opportunities. Is not the United States desire of having diversity to construct and improve America to be superior? The dreamers are not a threat to the United States but they surely are corroboration to the country’s economy and reputation. It is only proper from the U. S. to grant them help while they contribute to making America better.
