The American Revolution: Not Just A War

The colonists are nervous about their position at the start of the war. There are dues that are owed to the British. The colonists finally admit to being apart from everyone else and taking all the credit. After the first battles of the war, the government started shutting things down. The government didn’t know that the colonists were sovereign. There were extreme measures that ended in very little freedom for the colonists under the British Government. Great Britain was extremely in debt. It kept getting worse and worse through time. They were up to billions of Euros in debt. That was why Great Britain taxed the colonies. There were ships that came to pick up tea at the harbor.

However, the Sons of Liberty pushed that unless payments were made, nobody was leaving the dock with anything. The ships were not allowed to unload the tea. There were a ton of ships that had to be turned away without unloading it. (39) The colonists were smart, they figured out that since they had no representation in the Parliament, they didn’t have to be taxed. Even though there isn’t a written form of the “no taxation without representation” there was still a solid foundation for the law. (40) 6. The presidents such as Woodrow Wilson rely on simple documents and arguments to rule the nation. There was something always interfering with what was needed to be done and what the colonists determined.

The American colonies were being held under the same rules as they were over in England. No matter where they traveled, they were always under the English command. The Parliament was the “Big Empire” of Great Britain. Samuel Adams is known for his bad actions. Even Though he was one of the great American presidents, there is always bad that comes with the good. There were rules set for the next generation of soldiers that came through. There were several illegal things that happened in the effect of the confrontation at Lexington. There were multiple innocent people killed during the battle. There was no mercy, there were a variety of animals killed in the process. Many people were involved in the murders. There were other bad people such as King George that decided to become part of this fiasco. People’s families lives, and futures were at risk during this.
