Most of the Filipinos almost forgotten the importance and the beauty of Philippine Culture and Values. It’s because of Globalization, environmental pressure, new technologies, development projects, armed conflict and more. And also its results from deliberate efforts that influence values, changes of law or government policy, there are many reason that influence the Philippines to change. Filipinos are very loved found on music specially in all provincial sites, they use various materials or equipment to create sound. They also loved performing tradition dances and singing like “Tinikling and Cariñosa” and group of singing during festive celebration. They use variety musical instruments like ukulele, violin and trumpets most of the Filipino music is contemporary and they have also learned to write their own songs based on their experience or real events. Filipinos are also love Folklore which influenced most of the Philippine people. In terms of sports, the national sports of the Philippines is called “arnis” a form of material arts made by wood.
In terms of serenade “harana” in Filipino word, This is very romantic that which a young boy singing a love song in the evening as he woos you with his voice with your guardians or parents watching in the window. Because of the influents of western ideas our traditional serenade is no longer now practiced in other smaller cities. In our traditional games such as Piko, tumbang preso and patintero that we play in our childhoodness, unfortunately few children play this games anymore because of technologies like computer and gadgets. Filipinos have always respectful to elders, the best way to show this respect is that a younger person asking for the hand of an older women or men and then they blesses. Before the Philippines develop, indigenous tribe lived for hundred of years, unfortunately because of influenced of other country and modernization many have run out in their villages and ventured and they go in the cities to find a better lives and life. Before, female Filipinos are very conservative in terms of what they wearing, they are not comfortable of showing a lot of their skin in public. Unfortunately a lot of changes happened to how female Filipinos wearing clothes due to influence of other countries.
Interconnection with other countries throughout history helped to shape the Philippine culture and values. Tragically modernization are taking steps to clear out the things that we made us to be a Filipino. While development is good for us. Preserving those things that part of our heritage, history and way of life make us a real Filipino.
