Many women are willing to shop for a smooth, fluffy and bright face. But there is a case that does not look good but the skin becomes damaged and affects health. Everything can happen if the consumer is unaware of the purchased product, some of which are not approved by the Ministry of Health. The effect is terrifying if the consumer is aware and cares about the dangers of chemicals and poisons contained in beauty products. Among the toxins that are often contained in beauty products are hydroquinone.
Skin and skin care products that contain heavy metals such as mercury, chromium, cadmium and nickel can damage kidney function. This is because it contains heavy metals in cosmetics such as mascara, lipstick, eye shadow and skin whitening cream. More worryingly, there are now cosmetics and creams sold in kilograms from Indonesia and Thailand, for example openly through social media. Buyers will pack and place their own brands before being distributed in the market to buyers without the need to be registered. It gets worse when it comes to risk of kidney failure. Most slimming products or supplement products in the market, plus ingredients such as anti-depression and laxative drugs that are illegally inserted and may present health risks.
Nephrology Fellows, University Kebangsaan Malaysia Medical Center (PPUKM), Dr Lydia Kamaruzaman, said consumers were actually deceived by product manufacturers' tactics solely to get a slim body and white face. At this stage, hydroquinone is trapped beneath the skin which results in ugly skin or worse if it is pumped by the heart to the whole body that will damage the kidneys. In fact, hydroquinone that absorbs into the blood vessels affects speech, hearing, vomiting, muscle shinning, headaches, seizures and coma.

Irresponsible behavior can lead to a bad thing for the user. We as consumers have the right to make the best choice and do not buy blindly without knowing the consequences.
Indeed, smart users can save themselves from harm. Remember spiritual beauty is more important and noble than just temporary physical beauty. Doing something should not be outrageous to yourself. The government should monitor from time to time the production and sale of cosmetic products in Malaysia. Strict action should be taken to irresponsible parties. Overall, the role of the consumer itself, the community and the government is able to cope with the problem of cosmetics products that violate the law. Indeed, the cooperation of all parties can avoid the bad things happening to consumers.
