The Philosophy of Doubt: Rene Descartes

Philosophy is about existence, knowledge, value, reason, and mind. And also Philosophy means love and wisdom. There a lot of philosophers that focus on different aspects. There was this one person who said that when a person starts to question then you are a philosopher. Each person had a different experience and view in life. This is my life, seeking for wisdom. Rene Descartes is a philosopher and also known father of modern philosophy. According to Rene Descartes, everything that we know is made possible because of our senses, without senses, we will not know anything. Descartes always doubts in order to know the truth. Doubt for Descartes is not to definitely empty our minds, but it’s like to put everything in neutral or hitting zero points.

Rene Descartes Known as Cartesian dualism and also know as a grates philosopher in history, his theory on the separation between the mind and the body went on to influence subsequent Western philosophies. There is one philosopher who has greatly drawn much of my reflection on life’s realities or experience and view in life. That philosopher is Rene Descartes. Rene Descartes said, “I doubt therefore I exist”. I agree about what he says because I also doubt everything the more I doubt the more I can say that I really exist in this world. I thought I’m the only person that doubt everything in order to know the truth a lot of people also said to me that I’m like a philosopher because I doubt everything I doubt after all I don’t have an answer I don’t know the truth that why I doubt.

We must change ourselves we must doubt in order to know a pure truth. Descartes also said that “everything that we know made possible of our senses” I agree with this too, most of the time senses can also be right, most people trust their senses too. It is because our senses are so strong that we actually think that it is the truth but sometimes our senses can also deceive us. If we don’t have senses then we don’t know anything but sometimes our senses are wrong that way the purest knowledge comes from thinking. This quote has changed my perspective in my mind. If you would be a real seeker after truth, it is necessary that at least once in your life you doubt, as far as possible, all things. Therefore, in order to know the truth, we must doubt everything in this way you will find the truth. Also according to Descartes the purest knowledge when it comes from the thinking, not from the senses.

Rene Descartes had a great impact on me he influenced me that at some point in your life senses are needed to know something without senses we don’t know anything but also senses can also be deceived us or we ourselves deceived. And also in order to know the truth you need to doubt more to know the pure truth that you looking for. I would encourage any person to doubt the very things that seem so obvious and to attempt to construct a new base of knowledge that is true in the most absolute sense of the word with no loopholes or doubt, just as Descartes did.
