The Reasons For The Rebellions Of The 13 Colonies During The 16th Century

Through out history many things could have occurred that might have effected times in place that would eventually cause someone to rebel. During the 16th century (1501-1600) many things could have happened that would have caused the rebellion of the 13 colonies and would have roots that lead to the rebellion.

The rebellion of the 13 colonies could have started way before the 16th century. This can be proven as talked about in Lecture five when Germans where converted to Christianity. This happened during the roman period when a group of Germans came to Spain during the beginning of the 5th century who were called the Visigoths who had then been converted to Christianity. In the 4th century an Arian Christian bishop who was called Wulfila created a form of Christianity called Arianism. Arianism main purpose was to preach that Jesus was the son of god but he was not eternal or part of the holy trinity. After the Visigoth were converted they brought upon their new religion to Hispania. After Roman being rejected in Europe groups including Visigoths began to fight with each other for control over the Iberian Peninsula. This is where rebellion could have began to start. They were mad that someone could not have the control of religion and what everyone should believe in because everyone has their own opinion and views based on religion they think they should chose. This as mentioned before did start a fight which is a form of rebellion against each other. This rebellion continued during the year 711 when a group called the Maure that was led by a general named Tariq Ibn-Ziyad invaded a region of the peninsula that was ruled by the Visigothic king Roderic. The leader made a speech before the Battle of Guadalupe that happened on July 19,722 saying if they win he is a hero and if he dies then kill Roderic because then they would be free. Rebellion is started here as well because of invading and killing, that all caused some distort in people’s lives and made people angry cause they were destroying their own things.

A root of the thirteen colonies that could have started the rebellion of the thirteen colonies is in 755 when a Syrian Umayyad prince named Abd al-Rahman ran away from Damascus which is the seat of religious power in the Muslim world. When Al-Rahman’s Unmayyad family was found in the subject of intrigue in Middle East and was killed out by a family called the Abbasids he began to run away to save his own life but by doing this his family lost total power of the Muslim World. When he arrived in Cordoba , Moros made him leader of the Al-Andalus. Within a long period of time Al-Rahman’s descendants transformed Al-Andalus into one of the most powerful military of its age. This then gave Al-Rahman enough will to reclaim his family’s most special place as the leader of the Muslim world. In Madinat al-Zahra the Unmayyads made again their place of power over the Muslim religion in 929. The Unmayyads held this place for a while until they lost it in 1009 to Spain was then the center of the Muslim. This is a root because this was a colony had the history of the Muslim world who was overtaken many times by people who all wanted power of it. This caused rebellion because it made people angry and they wanted to rule over everything and really wanted it to be their way. Al-Rahman ran away but then got his power back but then lost it again which is bound to make someone angry and decide to go their own way and want to make something of their own to try and make up for something that they lost entirely versus when they really had something they worked so hard for. 

Overall the rebellion of the 13 colonies is because people lose power over things which then makes them angry and want to rebel to get what they want, control.
