The Reflection On Studying Humanities
Studying humanities has increased my understanding of cultures beyond my individual experience in so many ways.
For my ethnicity I am related to the Akan tribe in Ghana. In our culture just like he Egyptians we believe that the sun above is the creator of the lives on this earth In the Akan culture we call the sun Nyame. Also just like the Egyptians we do not have only one god but numerous amount of small gods such as god of the skies which is called Osoro and god of the land is called Asase. Which is similar to Osiris who is god of the river Nile. . Also, just like other culture the Akan culture is told by stories. The stories are told from one generation to the next generation to preserve the stories of the people. Stories may include, moral story, wars, tales etc. one of the different between the Akan and the Egyptians believe in the afterlife but in the Akan tribe do not believe in the afterlife.
One of the societal groups we learnt about was the tribes. People who lived in tribes organized themselves in in clans. Mostly they all residence in the same town. For example, in Ghana I came from a small town called Wawasi and there is a lot of tribal clans there and what makes it crazy is that everybody one from the same tribe know each and every other tribal clan know every one from each clan in the small town. Mostly tribes work together and most jobs will be farming, herding. In my tribe to people who go around and disrespect the values. of the tribes are sometimes banish from the tribe or the people can be killed which depends on which of shame the bring on the tribe. All of these attributes shape a tribe's culture. For example, the religion of the tribe can shape their culture since of the tribe all have the same religious beliefs. The religion factor can shape the environment since everyone in the tribe share the same religious believes this cause the tribe to begin to take that practice as beginning acceptable. Example when be traditionalists in Ghana.
Another example would be the Christianity. Before Christianity was seen as something bad but it later influenced roman empire and has now influence millions of people in the world. As an individuals I think that helpung one one is always nice thing to do. Not only It benefit the person you are helping but it also benefit me as an indidivdual. the feeling of helping someone innned is always to be me is increbile. Helping other people inned also can create a very good bond bettween oyu and youer commut.
Not only donating money to help someone is need is offering oppporunintuy but being their you a frind ehen they are inndeed of help or offring advice, usinng your talent and skills to tutotr kids. I believer that when peole are obligated to help out people who do not have the same opportunities us someone who has more opportunity.
