The Significance Of Learning New Things From Different Viewpoints

Part III of Peter Senges’ "The Fifth Discipline" helps me personally to understand the importance of learning new things from different perspectives. I am more aware about continuous improvement, I believed that today should be better than yesterday and tomorrow should be better than today. I am impacted to this part because of focused on realizing ones’ ability and focused on improving them for better tomorrow. We all have some vision but at point or the other, there is a loophole between our vision and our reality. There is always a way of improving reality to achieve that vision. I can relate this to the organization, for instance, if the organization has the vision to satisfy customers, but they find that the staffs in service department are not courteous, communicative, now, the company should improve on these facts to fulfill its’ goal. I came to know that I need to realize my strengths, talents and limitations and focus on improving them.

In organization, we can encourage the employees to expand their capacity by recognizing the factors that motivates them. When I was working in HR team in Nepal, our team just focused on external incentives like money, recognition and fear but I want career growth. As a matter of this, I could not focus on my work because I was not motivated from my inner heart. Similarly, mental model is another important part of learning organization. It is the way how we look to the world. It is important to know how we take the information and react to it accordingly (Gerasimova, 2017). Sometimes in organization and in our real life, we just look to the information and give our views according to our values, believes, without analyzing them properly. Moreover, as an organization it is very necessary to develop culture of learning organization and develop the environment for sharing information freely. Different people have different ways of analyzing the situation and to create solutions for the problems. But many times in our life, we hesitate to share information thinking our information could be worthless. It is necessary to have alternatives and self awareness for better outcome. (Foster, 2017)

Personal mastery is the solid foundation of shared vision. We all have vision but many of us are not successful to achieve them because we may not have the habit of recognizing our reality. Shared vision culture in organization motivates employees to develop personal vision and think innovatively and creatively. Being outside of our comfort level, to achieve shared vision, is difficult because of creative tension but, we should stand on our vision realizing our current reality. Shared vision holds the concept of not putting individual vision on oneself, it should be shared, learned and grew. Today, we read bible of Christ because he did not keep his vision within himself, he shared his vision for changing life for beautiful world. Similarly, the organization should also share the vision so that the employees follow the path, find out the directions, deciding whether they are in the right direction or not. Shared vision develops organizational structure, clear ideas, new challenges and opportunities, mutual correlation with in the co-workers. The good vision must have destination where to go? and must have purpose what to do next after breakthrough the related task as well as value are profoundly thought beliefs of what is correct or in a general sense what is vital and give rules to take decision(Stoner,2018).

In organization, it is very necessary to work together as a team. As a team, we can solve the problems easily than as an individual. Working in team means sharing team ideas coming from different minds for innovative and creative change. As an organization, it’s very important to ask their employees the ideas regarding different matter. It is the responsibility of the organization, to provide environment for free communication within management and employees. Similarly, diversity in the working place is the upmost, because we can learn different problem solving and different decision making skills from various cultures, background and so on. In bible, though the term teamwork is not mentioned but it is used differently. It is necessary to develop culture of helping each other because we all have gifts to share with each other. (1 Peter 4: 10). God makes helper for each other thus, not necessary to be alone.
