Understanding My Trade: Motive Power Technician Heavy Equipment

I am Dip Johi, currently I’m pursuing Diploma in motive power technician heavy equipment from northern college. With my interest in machines, after completing my school I have shown my interest in mechanical. Also, my senior gave an opinion that this field is having multiple opportunities for further studies and for the career opportunities. The various concepts like force, kinematic pairs, mechanism, and different theorems had dragged the real out of me. I was extremely enthusiastic to get admitted into motive power technician heavy equipment, which matches to my machines interest. To begin with, after graduating my diploma in June-2016, I joined a company which is a manufacturer of stainless steel seamless & welded pipes, tubes & U tubes. Working in such an organization helped me to gain practical knowledge about machines, its maintenance and other mechanical parts. Though I am far educated than those labours who are working in the organization but they more skillful than me. This infused me through of achieving higher education with the option of practical exposure of the subjects. I have understood from my previous education that Indian education pattern has a teaching process of theory. It can help me to get a credential of my relevant studies, but i need to work practically in the industry to get proper knowledge.

Moreover, many developed countries have an education pattern which following the learning process of doing the things, like they have better equipment, workshop and environments for study. After doing days of research I concluded, Canada is the best country which could provide me my needed space of environment and will help me to enhance my skills and abilities. Some other things which made me to select this college is its co-op program which will help me to learn more about heavy equipment and its different aspects. The needed resources are available in this college only and on the other side this college only provides motive power technician heavy equipment program. According to my survey this course will also give me handsome money in my future life, as this course contains vast amount of knowledge and diagnosis procedure. To accomplish my dreams, I must cross some difficult but important task which will sharpen my skills tooth, for instance: - a student must complete the co-op program and work under an industry for almost 30 weeks. Later on in this field the apprentice must graduate from training and gain certificate, the certificate will allow them to work as an engineer. After that I’m willing to apply for Red seal exam which will give me authority to work in Canada.

Although, as a beginner I may not be able to earn as much as highly experienced worker, but my goal will be grasp as much as knowledge I could so I would become a better engineer. I’m willing to work in some heavy-duty industries or in some commercial vehicles companies where I’ll earn $75-80, this will support my dreams, like, to travel the world with my family and friends, in addition to that, having my own house and luxurious car is part of my imaginations and to try different variety of cuisines. On of the most important is to buy a luxurious RV, which is also known as camper van or motor home. It is very convenient and conducive. Nevertheless, in this field the engineer gets proper amount of time to work and doesn’t have to face high pressure of work, this kind of work requires a lot of practical knowledge and practice and a well-known person is capable to repair an engine easily. So, as I feel for me as well because I enjoy working with engines and would love to diagnose it so sending time with engines and working on them I for repairing it won’t be a herculin task for me. On the other hand, I believe this department gives opportunity to learn more and as by matter of time a person will get to know about failure by touching the vehicle.

To conclude, I believe that this field has huge number of possibility and opportunity. I see a better and bright future in this field and to become a successful engineer or maybe a head engineer in any work site.
