Understanding The Art Of Pessimism
I want you to visualize a glass with half of water inside, is it half-empty or half-full? Some people might say half-full and some people might say half-empty. But, what do these things mean? Why do some people see it as half-full but some see it as half-empty? What does this symbolize? You know, there are two types of person, the Optimist and the Pessimist. Optimists are the people who view life as an opportunity to grow, a rainbow after the storm. While on the other hand, Pessimists are the people who see life as a dead end road, storm after storm weather. So you might be wondering that Pessimism will do you no good. You’re actually wrong. Pessimism has many different benefits.
Now that you know what Pessimism is, I will state some reasons why Pessimism might just be the perfect ‘point-of-view’ in life and Pessimists can be somehow, successful in their lives. Pessimists are ready for the worst, like, all the time. What can you expect? They always think negatively so they might as well get ready for it. After all, there’s no point in sugar-coating. Also, Pessimists expect less. They don’t expect that they will win or get a large amount of success because they know it hurts and it will not benefit them if they do expect that much. That’s a good thing because they won’t get disappointed unlike those Optimists. Also, Pessimists are wise enough not to trust someone. As I said a while ago, they don’t expect that much from anything and from anyone. So why would they trust anyone? Also, Pessimists are so nonchalant. They don’t burst their emotions nor act drastically. They strategize everything just to avoid the negative outcomes. And nothing startles, astounds or astonishes them. Negative happenings are pretty normal to them. And most importantly, Pessimists know when to stop and let go things. Time is really important to Pessimists so they won’t waste their precious time to some things that got out of their hands.
Those are just some of the perks of a Pessimist. It’s basically focused on calmness and trying not to look fool because of expecting too much. Pessimism is about perceiving the future risks and dangers one might encounter. It sweeps away disappointment if you believe in it. That’s why I think Pessimism is way much better than Optimism. Nothing really good happens in life. We live then we die and then there’s the unfair world. What good could we expect from our lives? So remove those rose-colored glasses off. And looking on the bright side is not always good for you. Remember, looking on the bright side can make you go blind. Before I end this, I just want to say that we need to embrace the darkness to bring light in our life.
